I happen to be perusing the 1g Roadrace Setup Guide on this site and saw the following recommendations:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/1g-dsm-road-race-setup-guide.476777/

- "RRE Camber Plates, specifically, the ones that add caster to further improve handling and give you more adjustment points depending on the track."
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/parts/camber_plates/1gco-caster.jpg

- "consider Whiteline's Caster Correction bushings. These offer a significant improvement in overall stability over the stock bushings. The increased durometer or stiffness combined with the offsetting design help retain and add caster which will, in turn, help improve straight-line acceleration and hard braking, cornering, and steering response."

I would like to know if anyone here followed the recommendations on that Roadrace setup guide and actually have BOTH of these items installed in their 1g DSM. What is your experience on how it made the car handle at the track? I am wondering if installing both of those items could result in TOO much caster, if that is even possible. Thoughts?

Reason why I'm asking is because I'm planning to install the Whiteline caster bushings this winter and I'm also considering either RRE caster plates (fixed caster) or the Ground Control Caster plates (adjustable caster). If I end up overdoing the caster, I can reduce it as needed with the Ground Control, but if I get the RRE then I'm stuck at that caster setting. Thoughts from anyone with Whiteline Caster Bushing AND Caster Plates?

Here are the adjustable Ground Control Caster Plates:

Thanks!

I did both. At this time I have Ground Control camber caster plates with steel rear bushings on the front lower control arms. I have 5* positive caster on it

Wow, nice. How much of an impact has that had on dynamic camber and handling as a whole? Any idea how much of an impact the 1* that the whiteline bushings add will have on handling? I might pick a set of these up.

I can't comment on DSMs, but adding caster is a massive tweak for Mac strut Evos - it improves the turn-in greatly, plus the benefit of the added camber gain throughout the stroke. It's really strange that we don't see it more, to be honest. I don't think you'll find a single person speaking negatively about added caster other than diminished steering feel, working the p/s pump a bit harder and maybe tire wear (though this one varies). It's almost universally accepted as something that will make a car corner better and lap faster, though.
