I hooked up my head lights and tail lights and tried to test them for the first time since I owned this car (bought it as a shell). And realized that my dash lights are dimming slightly when my turn signal flashes. The car wasn't running while I tried this and Im missing the drivers side blinker bulb . Im sure this isn't normal. Could this be a loose ground ?

Have you unhooked an earth? I had this when i left 2 earth off the chassis taking the car apart,

For me and I’m sure a lot of other dsm’s too, I can hear my fuel pump lose power in and out as the flasher turned on and off. I used an additional 10 gauge wire from alternator to fuse box on top of the stock, the fuse box to battery and replaced both grounds from chassis and this fixed it. I also cleaned all the ground connections and my alternator is new.

Well I have never quite heard it explained that way before ec17pse .. I`m amusing you mean , make sure there is a ground strap from the block to the frame . I just repair a lady`s car that had the same problem and this was the fix..
Not engine but i left 2 earths in the interior and it did not like it. Remember some earths go through other controllers also as earths

If the engine is not running its perfectly normal for that to happen, your using power when the flashers are on and the battery is dropping below 12v so the rest of the bulbs dim out that's all, when its running and its idling it can happen below 1000rpms also because the engine is using more power than the alternator at that speed can make.

Ah, Widgmaster - guess you haven't been to the UK where they call ground an earth. Kind of like a hood is a bonnet, windshield is a windscreen, a people line is a queue, and soccer is football!

So your from the old country.. Every one living in Canada and United States for that matter has migrated from another country . Scotland , England ,Ireland just to name a few. We are a multi cultural nation . Would love to visit the UK some day ..

Do you remember witch two they were ?
I dont remember exactly the wires. One was in the drivers side and the other i believe was the passenger side. I have something in my head about the srs system but i maybe making that up LOL, it was a while ago i took the car apart and cannot remember it all im afraid
