Hey Gang, so I scored a set of EVO 8 coilovers for a song and have made the necessary mods for it to boot up to my 1G. I have a question for the suspension gurus, will it be a waste of time and effort to clock the top mount to add caster when I go to drill the new holes in the front strut towers? Stock the caster is basically looked in and can’t be adjusted without aftermarket arms or modifying the rear LCA bushing mount. I have experience with rotating (and switching the pass and driver side mounts) on my WRX and it added caster while sacrificing a some degree of camber adjustment. Let me know your thoughts, thanks in advance.

I did it. I actually cut out new plates for the coilovers. I had to install the caster bushing to correct caster on RF and now I have like 5.2 on RF and like 4.8 on LF. The best part is that I need to cut the holes more and possible get more caster. Will post pictures possibly tonight or tommorow when I will find my alignment print out.

I have Ground Control camber caster plates on my 92 Talon. I'm running - 1 camber with 5 positive caster. Made a set of Bilstien HD coilovers with Ground Control coilovers

Here is my print out. Sorry for terrible picture, was taken with an old iPad. Don't mind camber, front I have a lot of adjustment and rear I am waiting on adjustable arms. I could have more caster, but will need to work for it a little. Will take pictures of the hats tommorow.

Cinder told me years ago you don't want more than 5 degrees positive caster without some type of posi in the front

Sorry for no pictures of the hats, been busy. I promise, it's coming. As far as more than 5 degrees of caster, it is possible. I don't know but I will tell you that just by driving on the street, I don't feel any difference than before. Maybe it is just me, I don't know. The fastest I went so far is 100 mph for few seconds and it feels normal. Panda is down right now, my rack overflow lines started to leak, so can't play with the alignment much right now.

By posi, you mean LSD? If so, what options do we have? I am not too much informed on LSD in the front. I have evo rear diff with properly stacked plates with Oem fluid and that too I don't feel anything special during normal driving. Need to finish my suspension and get some decent tires to play with it. I have to add that my daily is stock evo 9, maybe that is why it don't feel like anything special.

of what I know there is only 1 company that makes a posi, it starts with a Q sorry can't remember the company name,

Finally took a picture. Better late than never. I had my machine shop cut me out round 7 inch 3/8 plates and in the middle I ask the to copy the coilover hat and this is the result. Now the passenger side had to be trimmed a bit on inside to sit flush. The driver side fit flush with no modifications. The holes i drilled my self. Those are 10.9 bolts by the way, a little small but strong. As you can see, some material could still be taken out to increase caster even more. Those are also evo9 fortune auto coilovers with swift springs.

I like the custom top mount, how are you adjusting camber now?

Evo coilovers have the holes slotted on the strut. I also bought whiteline camber bolts. Right now I have oem evo bolts installed on the spindle. I drilled the holes out to 14mm. So there is a lot of adjustment.
