My center differential went out on me. I took my transmission apart and while getting to the center differential I found this piece inside the transmission. The car ran fine until the center diff went out so my guess is this has been inside for a while. Can anyone take a guess or know what this might be from? I took the rest of the transmission apart to get it powdercoated and found a couple more small pieces you see here. The biggest one was in the part of the transmission case that holds the center diff. Like I said everything ran fine and shifted into all gears no problem before the center diff messed up. In another thread I posted how the center diff gears just wore into the housing and separated enough to not engage anymore, so it doesn't appear to be from there but im not sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. It's a 98 Manual GSX

Given its brass and appears to be thick the only things that match that description are synchronizer rings and the center diff thrust washer inside the center diff.
