I have an uncrushed 1g BoV on the car right now, and after hearing the 'canary whistle' (that nobody warned me about.. fortunately I was on a call with Ricky from Rix Racing the first time it happened and he filled me in that it was "normal"), I've decided it needs to go. I'd like something that's a direct bolt on to the flange that's on my PR FMIC kit, which the GReddy type FV fits that bill to my understanding.

So, does anyone run this BoV? Are you happy with it, or would you suggest something different?

Any thoughts or input are welcome.

I have alot of older Greddy stuff one of which is the Greddy Type S, that thing lasted 20 years. I can only assume its a solid buy, I'm curious on others opinions on the FV because i have debated getting one.

GReddy BOVs work just fine. My only suggestion is buy a new through an official dealer or directly from GReddy. There are so many well copied FV in the market now, and some look so close to the genuine. Hard to tell if it's a genuine or not by checking its appearance.

That is exactly what held me back, it's scary how well their copied especially being a 200+ $ part.

Yeah, the level of copying is getting higher and higher, because each time when a new copy item comes up, many real manufacturers let people know how to distinguish between a genuine and a copy one, like the link below. But actually that info would also help the fake manufacturers to revise their copy products.

I saw a video on YouTube some guys were show some of the subtle things you can look for but i forgot what they were. Thanks for the heads up!

Im looking for the same thing, I wasnt aware of the the canary whistle either and it gets annoying. So the Greddy FV is a direct bolt on or would there need to be modification done to the flange?

The Greddy BOV does not mount direct to the 1G fitting, but it can be made to fit by drilling holes for it in the 1G style flange. OR you can just get the fitting on ebay that mounts down into the intake side like the OEM BOV and then direct bolts to the Greddy FV. I tried to upload a video of the sound my valve works but for some reason it will not upload. If you DM me I can try to send it to you in email or text for anyone that is interested.

It's not a direct bolt on to the 1G flange, the intercooler piping that I have has a flange on the UICP that is pre-drilled for a 1G BoV OR a GReddy.

I just thought I'd let you know i purchased an FV Greddy and I'll let you know how it ends up working for me.

I run an FV and I like it. I would like to switch to a tial in the future but I am in no rush. Holds boost wonderfully and does its job. Not to meantion the sound is crisp and loud as hell. But im on speed density so I blow off to atmosphere.

This.

I literally saw Chinese copies of the FV before I saw advertisements and promotions for the Genuine Greddy part. That's a bit concerning...for a minute I thought China was releasing their own valve with a Greddy name plate.

Turbosmart also has a 1g flange BOV, I run the dual port version, I think it's the GTR version that uses the Mitsu style flange, been a long time since I bought the one I have, kompact series
Just another option

EDIT: TS-0203-1026 is the one I used, dual port, 1G style flange and orientation, it was a drop in replacement for 1 the 1g BOV i used to have
You can adjust it for dual port operation with MAF or cap it for recirc only
It actually works perfect in dual port with a MAF once the BOV is adjusted
I was a bit skeptical of the dual port when I actually bought it but it worked fine

That's a scary thought, Greddy is my go to company for many of my parts, but most are well taken care of vintage Greddy parts.
