Hey guys, so I’m repainting my 99 GSX and I wanted to replace the front bumper because the previous owner went a little too crazy with the cutoff wheel so it’s a little mangled. Less than a year ago I was finding them for 60-80$.

Now they are all 300$+ which is absolutely ridiculous. Is anyone selling theirs for a reasonable price? gashed and scratched is fine, just don’t want one that someone trimmed away in the dark with a drywall knife.

You won't find a painted one for a reasonable price anymore unless you go on craigslist or to the junkyard. I'd check weekly (call or website) as the front bumper is the first thing to be grabbed off these cars from the junkyard. I paid $380 for my eclipse bumper from ebay shipped and it looks mint considering most shops want $600 to redo a front bumper i'd consider $300+ a steal

I don’t care if it’s painted, looking to do an entire car repaint, I just know you can’t quite fix a mangled bumper because they’re urethane, and can’t fathom spending 300$+ on a front bumper, as at that point I’d rather make a mold and make a fiberglass one and it would honestly be in better shape than all those 500$ ones on the market

You won't locate a painted one at a sensible cost any longer except if you go on craigslist or to the junkyard. I'd check week after week (call or site) as the front guard is the principal thing to be gotten off these vehicles from the junkyard. I paid $380 for my shroud guard from eBay dispatched and it looks mint considering most shops need $600 to re-try a front guard I'd consider $300+ a take

I know this is just bait so I wont dignify it with a response... And you can find primed bumpers for $50 still thats not an issue what you may have issue with is paying the $100 shipping for a $50 part. Although I just did a quick once over of Amazon and Ebay and it appears they are out of stock, possibly due to Covid

Ahh that’s true, it could be a shipping issue. I could’ve sworn i saw tons for less than 100$ prior to the pandemic. Has anyone had experience fixing the urethane bumpers? I’ve heard that due to flexibility differences that you can’t fiberglass the bumper covers, as the repair would simply crack with a temperature swing.
