Just got my DSMlink and wondering which wideband O2 sensor works best with it....I've seen some old threads saying AEM had compatibility issues at one time, but maybe it's been fixed on the newest version? Also I see some recommendations for the Innovate wideband....has anyone used a Glowshift or Max Tow? I'll be getting a wideband soon and mounting it on the front O2 sensor bung for convenience.. thanks all!

I have the innovate mtx-l as well, and on startup it takes a few seconds longer to warm up, but I let my car warm up for ~5min anyway. It also logs correctly and I've always liked mine.

Wow that's gonna cost around $400 with tax and shipping....is the production grade sensor longer lasting than the Bosch 4.9?
An mtxl or lc2 are good solid wide bands that work well. If you wire them correctly and don’t leave them in poor running conditions they’ll be fine. That Ballenger is what I’ll be trying next.

I have had issues with both AEM and Innovate, this one was recommended to me by a guy named Kevin Jewer, it's pricey but I was done messing with the others(more so the sensors than the unit itself although those can have issues also)..

YMMV with Innovate and AEM..

I am still using a PLX M-300TE with a LSU4.2 sensor since 10 years ago on my 1g. I replaced the sensor only once due to a piece of broken turbine wheel hit the sensor. Also I use a PLX SM-AFR with a LSU4.9 sensor on my 2g. I haven't had any issues with those.

I had mtxl, but had big problems with it after about 9 months, eventually it went out, and I spent way to much before just buying an aem x series, had it on 2 months, no complaints.

Wow! I just looked up those PLX-SM they are $1,000!!

Dude, I was just about to make a thread asking about something like this. What an incredible gauge!

Don't believe the hype, they are a PITA to get installed and reading correctly from what I have been told, again YMMV.. It is a good concept though no doubt, I had one of those starting out but it never worked correctly, then I went to Innovate then said screw it and bought the Ballenger... I have not had any regrets..

Would you care to elaborate what exactly the PITA part to install is? General rule, shouldn't easily believe "told" things.
I have installed and sold many PLX, Innovate, AEM units. To be very honest all of them work great if you install it "properly" and if it fits with your setup. But if I would have to choose one which one is the easiest to instal, then I would say PLX is the one easiest/simplest but actually there is no big difference between those if you know how to install this kind of things.
So far the only negative experience on PLX I have had is their EGT sensor used to have a bad design, the sensor used to have a weld outside on the probe tip, so the weld could eventually be gone while engine is running and hit turbine wheel and the probe got loose. This is what I mentioned above "a piece of broke turbine wheel hit the O2 sensor". The weld hit the turbine wheel and destroyed it, and a piece of turbine wheel sticked into the O2 sensor. But their EGT sensor already got revised many years ago. What I like the PLX SM series is, they have the gauge unit and the processor unit separately, and it works without a gauge unit and small. So it's useful especially when you just want a 5V output for a standalone ecu or datalogger.

The PLX has a 1v output wire to connect to the ECU? So I won't have to simulate the narrowband signal with DSMlink?
Yes it does and that's right. But if you have ECMLink, to use the narrowband simulation would be easier because you don't need to connect the 1v signal. If you don't have ECMLink or standalone ecu, then the 1v output is very useful.

I have ran the old AEM, MTX-L and AEM X line currently. The old AEM worked without issue but took a bit to make it log accurate. The MTX I had nothing but issues with right off the bat ended up tossing it in trash and went to new AEM going on 1 year with no dead sensors and it logging accurate to link.

They both use bosch lsu 4.9 sensors though so maybe bad luck on the innovate? Funny side story, I had Innovate send me a replacement bosch sensor because mine started pulling an error code and I kid you not the one they sent me was bad right out of the box. I had already ordered another sensor off Amazon and it worked perfectly so it wasn't a wiring or controller issue.. It's hit or miss with these bosch sensors it seems....
