Just thought I’d post some pics of my GSX that I keep digging deeper and deeper into.
Does anyone else get this OCD when cleaning?
Also wouldn’t mind suggestions for paint protectant, mainly for the hatch channels where water runs down.
Ignore my wiring as I’m redoing a lot of the harness and battery relocation.
I’ll update as I go if anyone else finds it satisfying
I don’t recommend this if you don’t know how to drill/tap bolts because you will break at least one removing a rear bumper.

Luckily the interior paint is hidden by carpeting and plastic trim. If you want to see how your exterior paint looked on the showroom just pull out your carpet

Also I thought the previous owner installed sound deadening on the rear wheel wells, looks like it was factory installed. That explains why it was such a pain to pull off

You planning on doing anything with the interior trim while you have stuff pulled apart, new fresh coat of paint or anything? I just installed lightweight sound deadening to the entirety of my car and it has vastly improved vibrations and highway tire noise.

Wow so THAT'S what my 98 looks like underneath.....well probably not that nice....I just noticed yesterday that one of my rear hatch drain channels is plugged completely at the drain hole! I think that's what it is anyway
...it's the little 1/4 inch hole on the middle of the channel... completely packed solid with dirt....I hope I don't have to pull my bumper off to fix it LOL

You don't you just have to pull the plastic trim on the inside of the trunk. Can't remember how many screws there are but there is one behind the trunk light so don't go yanking! I replaced mine with wider radiator hosing from napa for $5, vast improvement over the brittle see through tubes that well weren't so see through anymore

Wow, nice interior paint, are you painting it or just cleaning the paint surface? It looks amazing.

If that’s the original paint, that care was in really great hands.
Yes, original paint. The inside looks great, I’ve just got a little fading on wing and side skirts but I’m going to have those painted soon.

I’m painting most of the interior trim black to match a little better. I thought about doing sound deadening but not sure yet.

I had to clean one of mine as well due to it being blocked. It was just a clear hose with clamps that’s easily removable to clean or replace once the interior is removed. You won’t have to remove the bumper.
I can take a picture for you if you’d like so you can see what to do.

Cool I will make sure to add your build thread to my watched list. If you need any pointers I just recently did all of that interior fun stuff, but it sounds like you have it figured out
