This is getting really big in Japan. (And I'm sure it will be shortly in the States and Canada, too)

Maybe already some people in this forum know about this company (J-Spec Auto Sports Inc. in VA) or maybe not, since they sell only JDM cars and parts. But they sell JDM EVOs and 4g63 which is a bit related to DSM, so in case if you are planning to do business with them, you should look for some company else until everything gets clear.

Background story :

Japanese have been experiencing too many vehicle thefts for these 15-20 years or so. Especially for these 10-15 years, specifically 90s JDM sports cars, such as GT-R, Silvia, Fairlady-Z, Supra, RX-7, Civic, Integra, Impreza, EVO and some more that have a famous engine, too many of them have been stolen. Sometimes several same models are stolen in the same area in the same night.

We knew that most of those stolen cars would go to outside of Japan and would be sold as used car/parts but we couldn't have found the way they export. (We could guess but it was still a guess)

But suddenly the situation changed.
Recently one Japanese guy who got his Toyota 2JZ Surpa stolen 2 month ago happened to find his Nissan S15 Silvia which was stolen in the same parking lot 2 years ago is being chopped and being for sale on J-Spec Auto Sports site. And he tweeted about that in Twitter. And then many Japanese car owners who recently got their car stolen immediately reacted/shared his post, then they started to search and investigate around J-Spec Auto Sports and their family companies in Canada and Japan. So far we have found at least 13 Japanese stolen cars are being chopped and being listed for sale on their sites. We have even confirmed the engine numbers that J-Spec Auto show on their sites match the engine numbers that are provided by the real owners in Japan.
Those 13 stolen Japanese cars are found only in one week or so since we started to investigate and only in their recent listings.
So we imagine too many stolen cars have been already sold and they were supposed to sell more.

This fact has already been in a television news in Japan, and the Japanese TV company interviewed J-Spec Auto Sports in the news and J-Spec Auto Sports said...
"We are one of victims".
"It's not our fault. A Japanese company which is our supplier is the one stealing and chopping the cars".
"It wasn't our intension to sell stolen cars/parts".
You know what’s funny? The Japanese company they blamed in the interview seems to be their family company. It seems that somebody has already investigated about that Japanese company and it's a kind of dummy company that has been exporting used cars and parts only to J-Spec Auto Sports.

Also if you find some real Japanese license plates for sale, almost 100% those were illegally taken from stolen cars or some accident/disaster victim's cars, such as tsunami/earthquake victims. So please do not buy those things, if you can feel the car's owners or bereaved families. If nobody would buy, nobody would sell, I believe.

I just wanted to let all of you in this forum know about this to avoid to get yourself involved into further trouble by buying somethings from this company since they are still trying to keep their business. It's better to keep away from them at least until everything gets clear officially.

Now you can find many infos about this in google or Facebook.
I just leave some links here.

Thank you for reading this to the end.

Damn pretty sure my brother's friend bought a front end for his impreza GC8 from them. I will be sure to pass this onto the local subaru club as JDM 90's STI conversions have become huge over here in Seattle. I have definitely been on this site more than once looking for JDM front clips as they tend to be in better condition than the ones in Canada auto wrecker lots

Do you happen to have a list of the family company names?
