I admit I made mistakes definitely i was an idiot. I'm trying to get my money back and move on, he refuses at this point.

He'll apparently refund me when he sells the car now after taking a fee.

The above was posted that clearly hes trying to take advantage on someone who is being an idiot. He held out a carrot and i took it. I sent him the money trusting he "needed money to get the car done and sent to me" ok makes sense. Then after he got the money, the agreement he was going to provide never showed up, he couldn't give me the VIN of the car, I mean ok don't show me progress but you have to atleast have the vin that can't be too difficult to get, right?

Then yes my friends do think he's stringing me along. and when i defended him saying " Oh no htexted back saying hell provide this tomorrow" they think I'm a bigger idiot for believing him. And now this I'd we're we are at. I'm not sure how to go about getting my money back, im sure I could call my bank in this case and tell them it was not fraud but how do I do that again without something as simple as a vin number. He's out dynoing his motor instead of telling me what's going on.

Trying to get my money back and move on, based on his last response I won't see a portion of my money until he sells the car I paid almost $6000 for.

We have warnings plastered all over the site trying to give our members information to help protect themselves in transactions. We ask everyone to heed those warnings and not start threads to complain when disputes arise. I'm not sure anyone here can do much to help you out. And I'd rather not have Steve jump in here to try and defend his name in this dispute. You guys can handle that offline.
