Hey Everyone!

I picked up some new shifter cables since my last ones were missing when I got my car and the car was shifting fine untill today where it won’t go into any gears. Its like the shift linkage won’t engage at all or even allow me
To go into reverse. Here are some pics. I believe I am missing some spacers or bushings and also a video showing my issue.

Ok so update, took off the shifter cables and it’s not the shifter base, that actually does go side to side and up and down easily. Cables are wiring except for this one.It seems to be a transmission issue. Anyone know what part this is and how to fix it?

It will not allow the cable to move at all

Pop it off the stud. Is the cable free?
Try to move the lever by hand foward and backward. Which one is the issue?
Idk if you tested the shifter with the cables on is why I ask.
I have a manual FWD trans sitting in front of my shop right now, I'll go look.
And that bushing is wore out BTW.

Well mine is a turbo trans so not the same, sorry.

Took the cables off lever and it works perfectly so that’s out of the equation. I know the shifter bushings are gone and will need to be replaced. Looks like the tranny itself is just locked in placed. The cables are moving fine when not connnected to the transmission but the transmission piece shown here is what is not shifting

Are there any write ups on how to drain the fluid and get the transmission off? This is my first DSM and im completely loss in where to start to tackle and fix this issue

Fixed! Ended up that one of the retainer clips on the transmission side of the cable came off, so it wasn’t shifting the tranny into gear. Popped it back in place and shifts like a dream now!

thanks for all the reply’s and suggestions

Ok...
Sooo turns out the cables I got ended up being bad from the start. I had another spare sent from a DSM parts car I picked up and tonight my car once again stop shifting into 2nd, 4th and reverse. Took off the cables and found this..
Installed my spare set and wow car shifts so smooth.. feels like a whole new car!
