Just as the title says, I'm trying to figure out if the wheels I'm looking at purchasing will fit with the EVO 8 brakes. I'm lookng at the 5Zigen bronze FN10RC in 17x8 and am trying to figure out what offset to get.

I dont want to run any spacers. The spoke design should clear the calipers, but not sure what offset is need to clear the calipers . 30 or 35?????

As someone wrote up at the top of this thread, the design of the spoke really has the final say as to whether or not it fits, but essentially the higher the positive offset, the closer the spokes to the brake caliper. I'll post pics of mine on Saturday and where it comes up short. :(

I ordered another set of the FN01RC in the 25 offset, and can confirm these will fit, with close to 1/8" of clearance between the spoke and caliper. The only problem the rims stick out aboult 1/2" past the fenders. It actually looks good, a meanier stance if you will. With some camber in the rear you may be able to fit it better, but you'll definetaly have to roll the fenders.

damnit, finally someone else decided to also go with bronze fno1rcs, for years i havent seen another dsmer do it. They look hot with those brembos!

ET25 with 10mm out of fenders is too much IMO. EVO8/9 rims should work excellent with its ET38

I thought I would post an update. I had to get the 25mm offset 5zigens which clear the calipers with tons of room to spare. I also had to get extended studs seeing as the stock ones are way to short. I went with arp studs and they seem to be a bit longer than I thought so I used longer lugs to make it look better. With the offset I thought the wheels would stick out, but once I got the car on the ground it's pretty flush with the fender.

Finally got my awd swap done and the car is back on the ground. Just need to build the motor and get it in. Here's some shots from a little further away.

The studs are about 3.25" long. Lug nuts are Titek's. I had the short muteki lugs before and they just didn't look right with that much stud showing, so I got the long Titkes instead. Looks better I think.:dsm:

I have the mutekis now,I feel as if someone is going to trip on the studs. I was also looking for a solution wanted the volk extended, but they don't fit so I'm told.

35 should work with most wheels but I’ve heard that rpf1’s are notorious to have clearance issues with the brembos. So if you have rpf1’s like myself you’ll need at least a +37 maybe a +38 but idk if they have those offsets so go with a +40 like I did. I’ll update once I finish my big brake swap. 17x9+40 in case anyone was curious.
