Hey how are yall doing..I've been a member for years now but this will be my first actual build thread.
So finally almost two years and I got another dsm. Purchased her from a friend of mine last night and I am very excited to begin the journey of getting her up and running and reliable back in the streets. I've always been a drag/street racer but lately coworkers have got me very interested in road racing so time will tell the journey of this car but for now I'd like to get her back together and enjoy driving for a while it's been a long time! Thank you so much for your time, Jason Penny

Now you can change the profile picture to a right side up car!!! :p
Nice grab Jason!

I work way to much to work on my new car but I have managed to pull out the dash, interior and engine harness to go over and address 20+ yrs and lord knows how many hands of gremlins while the car is down with no engine. Closing up the shop today I walked over to check what brake line I needed and found rust spot size of qtr in right front wheel well so need to look into that. Plan on doing a wire tuck but I need to look into Texas inspection laws to see what I can and cant delete. Been talking with a coworker that knows a guy at paint shop in town LOL we know how that goes but I've been discussing also maybe getting her painted before motor goes in. Sorry for such a long msg to read that wasnt that all interesting but I am excited to own another dsm finally and look forward to getting this one back in service reliably and strong.
Thank you for your time, Jason Penny

Parts came in on friday from Stmtuned and today I finally got some time to pull apart the pulleys and timing covers and prepare for the timing/water pump job. I've been tinkering a little with the engine harness but have not touched the body/fuse harness yet. Goal is to relocate fuse box to glove box and tuck the whole engine bay but we will see how that goes. Got to figure out what all else I'm missing and need to order, both engine roll stops and passenger brake hard line then will be ready to install engine and move on to coolant intake and exhaust piping. Since my wreck I've really wanted a roll cage but have never had or been involved in the purchase or build. A good friend of mine offered to help me if I buy the bender hes got the welder plasma LOL (catch is he also needs bender for subframe and trans support for his turbo Silverado build) sorry for long msg but if you made it this far and can offer advice on tube benders It would be greatly appreciated thank you for your time
Jason Penny

Here's a few pics of the car still together I will post more once I have in my possession. Thank you as always for your time, Jason Penny

So the second car is a 99 auto gst. Surprisingly under all the dirt and grime from sitting for 6 months the car is relatively rust free and it has alot of parts I needed for the black manual car. It has a fair condition black dash without and cracks or warps. Also is a non abs car so had the brake lines I needed along with headlights taillights bumpers a better condition sunroof and seal and same matching seats as the black car. I've never owned and auto dsm before so I'm very torn on what exactly my plans are right now but am very thankful and excited knowing I can build one good car out of these two and maybe keep the other for full blown racecar?! Thank you for your time, Jason Penny

Wow so it's been over a year since I've posted anything here. What a year it has been with the craziness in the world a new baby added to the family and constantly working and getting called in on my days off I haven't got to mess with the cars much.
Two days ago work slowed down enough that I went out back of the shop and pushed out the black car it was rather embarrassing to say the least the condition she was now in but that's going to change its finally cooling off here in south texas so more motivation to work on the cars.
Over the past year I've been accumulating parts and various goodies I wanted been working on the engine harness and the fuse/body harness relocation and full tuck pulled out both interiors to swap over all the black interior I have to access what I still need. Sadly motors been sitting on engine stand thankfully inside one of our back bays waiting for the light of day LOL
Most recently I've pulled the clutter off of the firewall to be shaved and painted but I uncovered some rust partly that I knew about but now I can actually see where it starts and spreads and it's not to bad the car is actually really clean considering south texas is pretty harsh.
Plan now is to address rust an finish cleaning engine bay relocate some things and remove as much as I can probably going to get a manual steering rack but obviously I'm keeping my Ac finish wiring harness tuck and begin installing engine and the interior will come in between all that. I have not fully committed to paint color yet but I am in love with the Barcelona pearl. Ok enough talking I'll leave with a few pics and hopefully progress coming soon.
Thank yall so much for your time, Jason Penny
