I've had this issue before and thought I fixed it but that's not the case.
The launch control is always active whether or not the clutch is depressed and it's also using that rpm as my rev limit. Speedo works in car and in link V3. Top clutch switch works but for some reason, there was 6 ohms of resistance on the black wire (to ground). So I cut the black wire and wired that to chassis ground. The green/black wire runs to pin 104. When I check clutchsw in link, it works as it should, 0 when depressed and 1 when off the clutch.

@steve Since launch control works without the clutch cut wire, what does ecmlink use to verify the clutch is depressed?

I had a similar problem, (probably not the same) but I had unplugged my clutch switch so I didn't have to press it to start it when it is cold, I later turned "no lift to shift rev limiter" on but because the switch was unplugged, it always had that NLTS limiter on, so while doing a pull I would hit limit at like 6500, it took a week to figure out :p
Anyway good luck

I appreciate the input Sam.
There are two switches on the clutch pedal. The top one is there to turn the cruise control off if you press the clutch. This switch is also used for nlts feature in link but it has to be wired to the ecu. The second switch is at the bottom, closest to the firewall. This one is used to start the car.

Oh ok, thanks man

I believe its a reed switch Tony, mounted in the speedo head for 1g's.

I took off the speedo yesterday to see if there’s anything that didn’t look right but hard to tell since I don’t know that the he’ll I’m looking at LOL. I’d have to imagine that if speed in link is accurate, then it’s getting the proper signal.

Eric from ecmlink

Launch limit is the RPM limit that the ECU will observe when the vehicle speed seen by the ECU is at or below the speed specified by Disable launch at or above. Since your log doesn’t have a speed signal, the ECU thinks you are at 0 mph. Since 0 mph is below your threshold of 5 mph, it is limiting you to the launch limit. You need to figure out why you’re not getting a speed signal to resolve the issue. Start by making sure the vehicle speed sensor is plugged into the sensor.

I told him that I wasn’t moving and that I’ll send a cruise log sometime after Friday.

He didn’t mention anything about the clutch to activate launch control. Am I crazy to think you have to press the clutch to activate launch control???

Ecmlink

The launch rev limiter does not work off the clutch switch, it works off the speed sensor. Only the NLTS (clutch cut rev limiter) works off the clutch switch.

So I guess if you set the launch limit, you can’t free rev under the set speed. I changed the speed to 5mph and am able to hit rev limit while driving.

My auto will 2 step in Neutral and if under the rev limit but IDK about a 5 mph roll. I know the settings allow it but I dont think I ever tried it at like a 10 roll in my 5 speed car.
Sorry not much but a little info.

I haven’t either. I was hitting launch limit while driving so idk if maybe it didn’t see the 8 or 10mph it was previously set to.

Correct Tony. I think you were confused. The launch control in ECMLink only works as always ON or always OFF. If you had a standalone, yes you could activate/deactivate it by another input such as the clutch switch, the e-brake switch, a push button etc etc. ECMLink is very useful but not a standalone, it still utilizes the stock ECU box. So in this kind of situation it wouldn't be that flexible.

Yup. I must have been confused and def not the first time LOL. It’s one small negative about link...for me. Don’t know if it can be programmed that way but that would be nice.

I've never hit launch limit driving.....and I DRIVE my car hard. Check the MPH settings T.

It was doing it before. I’ve grounded the other wire for the clutch switch and changed the mph. Good now Marty
