So I've noticed that there are at least two versions of 2g cargo covers. One has three dampers and an unfinished underside, and the other has two dampers with a black underside.

Does anybody know why? Is one 2ga, and the other 2gb or something?

2Ga vented rear rotor cars have 3 bumpers and a finished underside, 2Ga solid rotors have 2 bumpers and a finished underside, and 2Gbs have 2 bumpers and unfinished underside. This is true for the AWD Talons we've had, but I don't know how this played out for Eclipses or FWD Talons.

There are several minor differences between Eclipse and Talons and also between AWD Talons and FWD Talons

Both the 99's I've owned had the 3 bumper cover with the unfinished underside. I think the black underside w. 2 bumpers was an earlier model thing .. but I'm not totally sure.

I bet the cargo cover is probably becoming a hard to find part. Most people toss them or they just got destroyed over time.

Both my 97 RS and 99 GSX have the unfinished (yellow underside) with 3 rubber bumpers ---
but my friend's 98 GST has the black underside and 2 rubber bumpers.
Maybe they just had two sub-manufacturers for the cargo covers and whatever they had on hand went into the current model being churned out by the assembly line (just speculating)
