This is a quick review on 2 spray paint brands i recently used and both fail to give good results and ever have good cans!

I first used Mpex 1K a few months ago. I got all primers and custom match paint and lacquer for around £80 so it was not hugely expensive but this time they changed the cans which used to have a nice spray nozzle when it was holts but the Mpex version had a new nozzle and it was useless. This can never laid down a single nice spray but was rather coughing and sputtering the paint out and it was super blotchy.

After this i decided to look into 2K as these apparently offered a much nicer finish and a found a 2K company that had nice videos and the product looked good.

So at £90 for only 4 cans its alot more expensive

These had an adjustable nozzle which is nice and i tried all the adjustments but the finish and how it extracted the paint stayed the same as these cans also spurted the paint out but not as much as the Mpex cans did. These did spray at least nicer but for a reason i cannot figure out is they acted like they was running out but it was a fresh can?? So it would miss sections from the constant stop start it was doing.

Listed in the video Riolett shows is that the 2K offers mkre coverage vs the 1K cans but i found the complete oposite, i ran out just after 1 coat of paint on the hood! And the coat was not exactly thick! I even had to use 2 cans of 2K clear lacquer and wven then that only got me 2.7% coats! Shockingly bad

So im going to look into buying a budget top feed gun and mixed paint in a can and do it the proper way. At least i know i will get a nicer spray and finish. I have done this before but many years ago and i ended up throwing away my guy as i broke it but it did product a nice finish for the overall price.

Just to note that the clear coat was wet/dry sanded with 2000 and it seemed to uncover the bad spray coverage ve if i did not cut it at all. After the 2 stage paint correction it made barely any impact. From a few steps back its not too bad but up close snd hands on it you see the uneven spray it layed down.

this spray on the ceiling is from the Mpex can, notice the blobs of paint! This is not a nice spray and is what caused me issues as it was spurting the paint out.
