When purchasing link v3 it's kind of unclear on their website if it comes with a ecu with it installed or if you have to supply an ecu. I have my stock ecu but it isn't eprom. What are the cost I'd be looking at for full v3 with the ecu?

You have to supply the eprom ECU that is also socketed. ECMLink is $545? Then tack on a couple hundred for an ECU and to get it socketed if the one you buy hasn;t already had it done.

Ok thank you.. so best bet is to buy a 2g eprom ecu that's socketed already then purchase link v3 for $545?

Looking on ECMtunings site it looks like they offer a 2G conversion to eprom...but it's $195. I dunno what the price of eprom's go for. If it's hard to get a hold of one I guess that could also be an option. Then at least you know you'd have a functional ECU built and tested by the pro's. ( I had them repair my mine.....they did excellent, quick, and not expensive work ).

I had a hard time dealing with ecmtuning. Response to emails went weeks sometimes never even got a response. This was way prior to covid. Contacted kenny@justatune. He works directly with ecmtuning. He responded to emails quickly. Shipped me a dsmlink v3 ecu in a few days , and signed on over my computer and did the initial setup on my car, while on the phone with me. Top notch guy and highly recommended.

Yeah at this time though I dont really want to see the turn around time. Due to covid 19 its probably months.

I've purchased 3 systems in the past year from them, I've never had an issue and the last two were about 1.5 months ago, service was quick for the time (2weeks) and in the past it's been a few days.
I will say that you have to find the right person to talk with, Dave has always been prompt with his communication and helped me out alot.

Finding a 2g eprom is hard these days, I happened on one for my build for a ln excellent price, but that was after weeks of looking everywhere. Beware of eBay, as many advertised there are not actually 2g eclipse/talon ECUs, they're jdm ECUs. If unsure, always ask and send pics with the model number to ecmlink or check here.

Yeah I have ran across a few of those searching a few minutes ago.. I just put up a WTB post to see if I can get a used setup. If not I do have my stock ECU that I can send off to have converted I guess. I don't need it as I use my black box ecu so might as well get some use out of it.

Ecmlink setups seem to be constantly for sale on here and Facebook.

I don't have Facebook, but I know on here the 2g systems go pretty quick. 1g systems do too, but there seems to be more of them floating around.

I have a 98 GST and I wanted to keep my factory ECU for some reason intact and to have a spare rather than convert it. I purchased an EPROM ECU on ebay for ~$250. I recently sent in an ECU during covid19 shutdown for socketing and a V3 setup. They received the ECU on Sat, worked on it Sunday and shipped it out Monday morning. I know that their volume fluctuates but I wouldn't speculate that they are taking longer than necessary to perform work. Often when good small business owners are up against it they work harder to prevail through tough times.

I would just message ATEAV8 if I ever needed a system again. I got burned on here on a junk ecmlink. He helped me out tremendously and has full systems ready to go. Got me up and running in a few days.
