A couple years ago when I had my last spyder, I removed the radio at one point because it was causing a parasitic draw and killing my battery. I instead built a wire harness with a headphone jack on one side for my ipod, and a connector on the other to plug into the radio harness so I could use the speakers. It worked, only even at max volume, it was playing at a low volume. I want to do the same thing with my gsx so I can use the radio space for other things, but how can I solve the low volume issue?

You need to run it through an amp, your Ipod doesn't have the power output to power car speakers, ideally you would use a stock Infinity amp under the passenger seat and input it into that with the proper patch cables, otherwise you need some type of aftermarket amp.

So if I happened to have like 5 spare oem amps, I can use one of them to do this? How would I wire everything to work right? I can to all sorts of electrical work, but always lost on audio equipment.

It may be possible to do this with the factory amp, but it's probably easier to just go aftermarket. Years ago when everything had an aux port, you would just have an aux to rca cable that went straight to the amp inputs. But now with all of these phones removing the aux, you may find it more difficult to connect. My Pixel for example, I have to use a usb-c to aux to connect to my cars.

Most oem amplifiers don't use RCAs, I always see them with just 1 or 2 plugs. You may be able to find a pinout and make that work, but an aftermarket unit will be easier to hook up and give you way more adjustability to tune the sound.

The factory 2g Infinity amp does not have RCA inputs. It uses proprietary signal inputs through a 6 pin DIN cable from the Infinity head unit. I've tryed for years to figure out how to directly wire my iPod into it without any luck. Even tryed the RF adapter thing and cassette thing and CD changer cable thing but all had miserable problems and sound.

Well that's good to know. Got 5 spares for no reason then ROFL Guess I'll look around for a small one, if that's possible. Don't need THX quality sound, but normal bass, treble, and front/rear speaker adjustments.

Anyone have any suggestions for that? Nothing expensive, decent sound at an affordable price.

The information you've shown doesn't answer your question, and here's why. You will need an amplifier that has what are called "Preamp" inputs, with "Speaker Level" outputs. Preamp levels are low, like what an ipod or phone would produce. Speaker levels are high, with enough power to effectively drive (move) your speakers.

The style of connector -- in this case RCA -- doesn't tell you which level of input this is. In fact, from the ad copy, it sounds more like it is Speaker Level input, with "Mo'Powa" Speaker Level ouptput. I even went to Blaupunkt's website and it doesn't clearly say, either. Unfortunately, you will need more information maybe from contacting Blaupunkt. Describe to them what you are trying to accomplish, and let them make a recommendation.
