Greetings
I've been given the task of mating a 4g63 engine onto a T5 ford escort gearbox. This is being dropped into a rwd MK2 escort. We're going with the T5 because it will be getting a tractive sequential that is the same fitting as the T5.
Plan is an adaptor plate to bolt to the 4g63 which then accommodates the bellhousing. Does any one have or know where I could get a drawing with the engine bolt pattern on so I can start to draw out the adaptor plate.
I have the engine to measure from but if there's a drawing available it would make life that bit easier.
Engine number is MB1604 if that dictates anything
Thanks

I'd had a look at Bill's site but couldn't see anything for the T5 set up (I might have missed it though) trouble is he's the other side of the pond to me so costs soon rack up. Plus, I'm more of a built not bought kinda guy :)

You will still need a bellhousing.
Call Bill and he can set you up, are you using a Ford or Gm T5.
You will also need a special T/o bearing, and bore flywheel for pilot bushing,
Measure your bearing cover flange as they vary at least from the Muncie and the T10, dont know the size of the T5.

It's a ford T5 (previously on the back of a cosworth) what do you mean by t/o bearing? Is that what we call the release bearing? If so it's going to have a concentric Saab unit. I'm planning on using the standard ford bellhousing.
What's the easiest way to get hold of bill?

T/O bearing = throw out bearing = release bearing.
His email should be in the above post by mottomax, in case you missed it.

His phone 419-367-1758 I had good results calling him.
Is the SAAB release bearing hydraulic?

I've dropped him a message thanks.
Yes it's a hydraulic one, it's a common modification over here for rally cars using non standard engines and boxes
