I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS 2.0L DOHC 4C Non-Turbo it has been sitting in my driveway for years and been idle. We just started a month ago and finished like 3 days ago; we replaced the water pump, timing belts, head gasket, replaced valve seals, new thermostat, new radiator cap, and a new radiator. The overheating problem went away and the AC and heater work now but after a while there is smoke coming from engine or around not too sure but if anyone knows the problem would you mind helping ?

Can you describe exactly the location it's coming from? A video would be even better!
My dad took a video and waiting for him to send it so might be a while but there’s like smoke coming from like in between the engine and exhaust manifold after a while but still won’t overheat just smells. Also there’s nothing leaking to the floor so not too sure what it might be. We also did the leak test and the color stayed blue the whole time tried for like 10 mins still stayed blue so I need help idk

What kind of smell does it give off.? Does it smell of burnt antifreeze.? And can you tell what color it is.?(blue/white/grey smoke.?) my 96’ had a problem with leaking antifreeze from the line that runs along the valve cover (above the exhaust.)

You might just need to let it run for a while to burn off the old crap that was all over it.
That picture is not of mine but similar but the smoke is coming from in between the front engine and the grey plate

Just let it run for awhile keeping an eye on your gauges. All the contaminates from your hands, lubricants will smoke and burn off.
I sadly cannot see the first picture posted. And by grey plate do you mean the exhaust heat shield.?
Ok so we torqued the intake manifold and stuff connected to the engine to the right specs and now the smoke is no longer coming out it’s perfect. But now there is white smoke coming from tailpipe not too much but sorta some and wondering if it could be old gas burning off or something? Thank you guys a lot too!! Also still not overheating or anything just white smoke from tailpipe now even though we tried the combustion leak tester (stayed blue after doing it for 2days) and we replaced the head gasket and stuff?

As far as the white smoke goes, it could possibly be coolant but there’s no real way of telling other than keeping an eye on the fluid level and seeing how long between filling it up.
