Thank youThey are expensive but as for my first time recently owning a ball bearing Fp/Xona rotor turbo, I can vouge they are absolutely worth every penny in my opinion and many others! (Exceptional fitment quality and customer service!) So if you send it for the ball bearing black and its capable of your goals I'm sure you will be more then happy with the choice!
Bolt-on and ball bearing pretty much means either a BB FP Black, something suboptimal from PTE, or buying something used, or getting a custom machined turbine housing. There's no other ball bearing options being sold new currently in a Mitsubishi footprint. If you're concerned enough with it's performance to insist on ball bearing, I'm confused as to why you'd also insist on a restrictive stock turbine housing.
If you are able to find one, an FP3052 or FP3065 would be a natural step up from a 20G and were both available in ball bearing CHRAs.
Another option would be the .63 A/R turbine housing from PTE. I don't know much about Precision's line up, but as long as you use one of their BB CHRAs with their 62mm turbine wheel, that gives you a few more options for bigger than 20G, bolt on and ball bearing. You must be logged in to view this image or video.
Here's another option from FP:

Bolt on Xona rotor/FP turbo, go to drop down box for turbine housing and select FP 30 series housing. I believe eventually FP will be coming out with a bolt on DSM zero, but I don't think anyone knows when this is supposed to happen.
Or as mentioned above the FP black BB option or look around for used 3065 or 3052. I have the JB black and I really enjoy it, I'm sure BB would just be better.
Thanks for the awesome information. Here I have been lusting after 6466 BB turbo and scared of the price. But a standard 6466 will serve my goals just fine. Thanks!!Choices are slim when it comes to direct-fit and ball bearing. Keep in mind ball bearing is purely a durability mod and doesn't always translate into better spool or response when comparing two units of identical wheel specs...the only time ball bearing should really be necessary is when the plans for the turbo include it being over-driven to hell (high boost, large compressor on a small turbine in a small a/r housing) or lots of on/off/on throttle application such as a road course. Otherwise they have an extreme intolerance of oil contamination and easily cost three times as much to service than a comparable journal bearing unit.
