As I'm sure everyone knows by now, this coronavirus is taking the country on a wild ride. A lot of states are banning large number gatherings usually around 100+ people events. What about the shootout? Ohio join the "ban-wagon" (pun intended) and as of March 12th and all large events are prohibited in that state. It is only five months away remind you. I'm not on Facebook, but I know a lot of information on the shootout stays current on that platform. Anybody hear what's gonna happen this year? Anybody wanna share their opinions on it and if they think its gonna be canceled or postponed?

Honestly, if the world can't pull it's head out of its ass by then, it won't be war that'll kill us, it'll be divine ignorance, hypochondriasis and nosophobia that ends the human race.

This should all be vastly blown over by then and people should be well well moved on. Remember swine flu? Bird flu?? Necrotizing fasciitis??? Yea...all still things that are out there just as much as they always were, and no difference to date. The flu kills more people per year IN DROVES than this will ever hope to. It's a more potent strain of the common cold for chrissakes, and the immune compromised or co-morbid (already sick or elderly with resperatory issues) are the ones actually dying from it. Contracting it can happen to anyone, but if we all weren't filth monsters and washed our hands more than once in a blue moon, that would also stop. It's not rocket science, it's common sense.

Rant over, my money is on the shootout happening. I hope it does, I'm trying to go this year!!

You hit it right on the head sir. The media blows it up and of course all the official and governments are blowing it out of proportion too. Because why? Liability. That's it. This is the 19th strand of coronavirus. It's been around folks. Nothing new. Rant over as well LOL

The -19 in COVID-19 stands for 2019, the year it was discovered, but that isn't even the official name for the virus. It has nothing to do with how many strands have existed prior to this one. But for full disclosure, this is the 2nd named coronavirus.

I'm also hoping that the panic is over by Shootout time, and judging by how quickly it's spreading the bulk of the deaths will have already occurred by then, but who knows. It's 5 months away. There's no need to play the guessing game now. Also why is this a poll? Just ask the people who plan it.

Lots of misinformation floating out there. Please consider the source of your intel before spitting out misinformation, OR YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM!
Have a nice day and here's to a quick spread of corona so its over with - or - here's to a mutation that wipes out humanity so I don't have to witness the decline of civilization firsthand. This shit is embarrassing.

It will go on just fine, its an outdoor event where there wont be any close contact by people, do you think that Norwalk Raceway Park is just going to stay closed all season? nope. We will be over this after Memorial Day I predict, the weather will get hot, the sun and heat will not allow good transmission of the virus and we will be outside instead of malls and cruise ships and airplanes, it will die off and we will be bothered by some other flavor of the day by the drive by media, likely back to Trump bashing/"orange man bad"/"must get rid of orange man".

Glad to hear we are all hopeful and think it should be back to normal by then. Logically speaking though things will have to get better and number of cases would have to go down in order for cities and states to lift the ban. Randman It's a poll causes i made it one. For no other reason other than what it's there for, to get a vote on either a yes or no.
Also I actually did try to contact Norwalk Parkway, but being the weekend their offices are closed. There isn't really anything they can tell me however that I don't already know. There isn't anything they can do about it. It's out of their hands really. It's a mandatory ban on all large Gatherings inside or outside. It really sucks cuz im dead set on going this year and i have a As I Lay Dying concert to go to in May here in San Antonio. SA is all in a scare now that we're in an " emergency state" what ever the hell that means. I can't even go grocery shopping cuz the shelves are all empty and everyone's panic buying. :notgood:

Do you think that Cedar Point is not going to open this year? you have another thing coming, this is their 150th anniversary year, they have big plans that dont include being closed, do you think that Myrtle beach and Ocean City are going to not be open? no way, H2o will go on, Import Face off next month will go on, etc etc.

Everything around here plans to re-open on April 6th.

Wish everything would open now. So sick of this. Sick of hearing about this damn virus. I dont know one person who has this. And no one I know on a personal level doesnt either. New york autos show delayed till August now, .Wrestlemania cancelled to be held in an empty arena. That's the straw that broke the camels back for me. I took 2 days off of work for that. Terrible. I live in CT btw.

I think that's a bit optimistic. The Shootout might be far enough off to still go on (fingers are crossed) but I think most all events are likely going to be postponed or cancelled well into May or maybe even June, depending on how much we're able to limit the spread/flatten the curve. The Olympics are still going on at this point. We'll see.

Wash hands, keep your distance from others as much as you can. If enough people help limit the spread it'll blow over sooner than later and everyone will be wondering what the big fuss was a few months from now - some not realizing that the social distancing helped get us to that point. The main goal, from what I've been reading, is to prevent an overload on the hospitals and medical resources like what's happened in Italy. As many keep pointing out, this new virus isn't as lethal as some of the others out there (it doesn't have a high fatality rate) but it definitely has the potential to strain the healthcare system to the point of an increased death toll.

Hopefully everyone looks past the rhetoric out there, a lot of it floating around and getting re-posted everywhere. I'd avoid FB, as that's where most of it is circulating, along with conspiracy theories galore. Stay safe people.

The Shoot Out is officially on, owner of the track says he is defying the governors order and the track WILL BE OPEN.

Amen Bill, can't wait to see you there again, the SO gets a shout out as well in the video.

It's honestly to early to tell.
Right now, its far enough off that if we can get the spread under control and then maintain new clusters of illnesses that pop up BEFORE they reach exponential growth, then we should be ok. Most of the mess we are in now is due to not taking it seriously when it was just a few isolated cases, let international travel go on for entirely way to long, and then not being able to test for it.

There are several other countries that have proven with widespread testing and aggressive contact tracing, they can stop the out-of-control spread.
Crossing fingers..

Well that was definitely nice and reassuring to hear what he had to say in that video. Thank you for sharing it ist dwa. Could you also share the upcoming info on scheduling to be announced later next week that he mentions? This way we can all see that not only the track will be open, but confirm that the people at Buschur will still be holding their event there. Thanks again

Bill Bader has backed off those statements and now is looking at a track opening in June. Sounds like the shootout is still happening but it is too early to tell. Lots of information coming out almost daily.
