So Valiant (90 laser n/t) is getting ecmlink v3, I'll add in the proper extra wires, but I don't plan to turbo or anything for a while. Its mostly for diagnostic and optimisation purposes, don't plan on trying to get crazy power from it yet, just better drivability and increase fuel mileage, and if it pepps it up then great!

My questions are: does anyone have 1g n/t injector data and possibly ignition/fuel map info?

I was thinking I'd use a turbo FPR or AFPR and 450cc turbo injectors, then modify the ignition map to suit. My only concern is will the 450cc's be harder to control? I know they can idle and cruise just fine, but obviously are meant for more fuel. If I could find injector data for the stock n/t injectors then I'd be closer and not have to wire in the resistor or find other hi-z injectors with available data. But the 450s will only out fuel in up to their appropriate vacuum/boost level is my thought.

Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

Edit: car is 2.0 dohc, 5 speed, bone stock. Plan to use a 2g or GM MAF as well, and will get a header/exhaust at some point in the future. Otherwise car is stock and runs great, save a misfire at cold idle and low rpm/high load.

I would leave it all stock. There is no reason to upgrade the MAF or injectors unless you go turbo.

Best case scenario you get it running as good as it does now.

That would be great, but I don't have much other diagnostic info (since there's no check engine light) and I'd rather not just throw parts at it swapping ign. and fuel stuff to try and get it to run right. With ecmlink on it I can narrow down the issues, save the fact that I don't have injector information for the n/t injectors. Eventually this car will get a built 2.4 in it, but I wanted to see what I could figure out on the 2.0 first as I don't plan to build the engine for this unless I come into alot more money and time really fast.

Anyone know any specs aside from flowrate for the n/t injectors? If not I will just use 450s and play with the timing maps. The 450s shouldnt overrun since they'll never see boost and I can always pull fuel out of them, just want to verify if my logic is flawed.

Hopefully you were a member of the dsm ecu yahoo group, and hopefully you downloaded all the files before it dissapeared. There was bins and xdfs for some of the n/t ecu's on there.

I was not and I didn't...dang... Eh, worst case I'll fiddle with it, shouldn't be too hard to dial in on stock turbo injectors.

If anyone has the files from the Yahoo group I'd greatly appreciate you reaching out!

Just to bring this back with info, I emailed with Dave from ecmlink and he confirmed that stock turbo injectors will supply fuel correctly on a non-turbo when used with ecmlink as that's what the ECU expects to see. Since airflow won't go into the higher ranges, the injector will only deliver enough fuel for the given airflow.

So wiring in the resistor and putting some 450s in is really all that's needed. I'll be adding the knock sensor and MAF wire as well at some point, and I'm sure a small amount of tuning will be needed, but it'll be a nice base for diagnostics and seeing how the n/t responds to tweaks.

I'll give further updates in the vehicle profile for Valiant.

If anyone has further input on this feel free to share!
