Had a nut left over after the trans job... not happy about it but one is a new record LOL.

Anyway, does anybody have an idea as to where this nut might go?

Looks like an exh but or a bracket/pipe but. It's an interference/lock but, but otherwise it's far to vague to guess. It does appear to be an exterior nut just at a glance and based in condition.

Love the title of tour post!! We’ve all been there before. I wouldn’t know about the trans on a 420a.
Sort of looks like the ones that hold the fuel tank on AWD 1g. Usually the fsm denotes these locking nuts as “never re-use”, like oil seals and cotter pins, though with good judgement you sometimes can. Someone will read this post and know exactly where it belongs.

Looks like trans mount nut.
Bingo. There should be 5 studs coming up from the trans and the long bolt with a nut going through the mount off the framerail.

edit: im sorry i didnt realize you mentioned it was a 420a car. Still could be the case though.

All the trans mount nuts are in place. I double checked a few things and I don't think it pertains to this project I did. I think I just knocked it loose from it's precious resting place.

Thanks for the replies, and sorry mine is late. I've been busy...
