I finally got around to pulling to engine that came with the car. Original owner had issues with very high oil pressure and it kept blowing OFH gaskets. It does have ARP main and head studs, and was recently machined. Weary of the condition I purchased a 98 split thrust engine. I did take some parts off to verify condition and unfortunately I will not be using it. 6 bolt head, studs, an aftermarket crank that was marketed for the forklift variant of 4g63, a triggerdisk.com 12 tooth, and a cracked front case. I went back to inspect the original 95 block and found a paper towel plug stuck in the main oil passage into the block....ding ding..this would explain the blown gaskets post pump but pre-block. Ordered some parts from RockAuto and I may install my old stock evo rods and pistons.

I haven't really made much progress since November other than contact with original owner and collecting his old dealer material and a spare set of wheels.
