What is the most power made so far on a Mitsubishi or fel-pro composite head gasket without having the head or block o-ringed? I’m very curious who has the highest recorded horsepower and I haven’t found a lot of good info.

836whp here. Out of turbo. Would love to give her a go with a big boy turbo some day.

No orings, no receiver grooves, full wet block, no block filler, conventional ARP studs at 110lbs, Felpro composite gasket. The car went 218mph at the salt flats with this tune. Had issues and had to turn out at the 4 mile. Car never got a full 5 mile pass under power.

Which turbo where you running then?

I’m in the process of building my motor and I’m torn between the a L19/fel-pro composite or the hks mls, I don’t mind keeping timing conservative even on the turbo tuff rods, it’s less stress on everything and I like the idea of having a cheap fuse compared to an expensive failure LOL, I also had no issues with 60+ lb per/min on a dsm82 with standard arps torqued to 110 with a oem mitsu composite:thumb:

A lot there is a lot of info but many have made well north of 500whp. We only run composite gaskets and never had one fail from to much power. Lots of timing will kill a head gasket faster then boost. I currently am running a O Ringed head with oem composite just for extra safety. But all the local cars I tune run with no rings and we never once had worried about the head gasket.
