Ffs.....this isnt available in Canada through Napa.... going to try extreme PSI.... not sure why my 97 M/T 420a non-turbo doesnt have one.... should i be looking for this part or the Transaxle Position Switch? (I read in the manual its for A/T)

I can’t be sure on a 2g, but for the 1 g the clutch-fully-depressed switch is essentially just to make sure that novice drivers don’t try to start the car in gear. It can be removed with no other consequences. The “clutch pedal all the way up“ switch tells the cruise control that it is ok to take over throttle operation, so that at least serves a useful function. I had the wires on the first one of mine fall apart while removing it, and did look for a replacement, but gave up. Found some listed on NAPA online that looked right, but not actually able to order one. Gave up and haven’t noticed since. My cruise one works fine since I replaced the little rubber bumper on the pedal arm. Never looked for a new one, so I’m basically no help at all.

Damn....my car will turn over with the clutch pedal up or down but the car wants to launch. Im just worried they will give me a hard time for a safety cert if that is not in there

Hmmm, yes, I can see how that might be a thing. Yours is likely not working, which means the starter will engage regardless of pedal position. It really has nothing to do with safety once the car is running, but safety rules may not be flexible in that regard.
I would try JNZ and Amayama for an OEM part, and there are other, similar ones out there that shouldn’t be too hard to adapt if you have to have it. In the 1g there is just barely room for the wire-end against the firewall, so the exact switch size is a limitation. 2g I don’t know.

This is all i could find around the clutch pedal....it appears the rubber that presses that push button has broken. But the white push button still moves... maybe the spring inside is not pushing out the white rod enough so the sensor thinks the clutch is always pressed enough and allows it to start. I tried to remove it but its waaay to tight, ill have to remove the whole bracket.... other then that im thinking maybe the previous owner bypassed it somehow

If it was already safetied i would probably do just that, however trying to get it mechanical safety road inspection done ill probably have to replace it.... it looks pretty rusty around the switch so im thinking its safe to assume its toast on the inside

Ya just for regular road use, only issue i think will happen is if the garage goes to start it and just happens to be some kid or someone not firmilar with manuals, they will try to start and see it tries to start in gear then give me a hard time about it....$60 part from the dealer plus their time $100/hr to swap something i could have gotten fixed for half LOL.....oh boy i love wrenching haha

Its the switch.... pulled the white plastic rod out and tried to start the car, wouldnt turn over, pressed it back in and car would turn over. Removed the whole clutch pedal bracket and master cylinder (have to replace master cylinder anyways) in order to get the bracket out. Going to attempt to rebuild the pedal position switch. But extreme psi have them pretty cheap (luckily mines a 2 prong) and going to clean up and paint the clutch pedal bracket while its out.
