Bringing this back from 2011 so i have 20’s on after reading this thread, what part of the spindle needs to be grinded? Also i ordered 5mm spacers, would 8 or 10 be better, the nut on the spindle seems to be in the way a bit too...thanks in advance.

ya i srry for the late reply my peeps and thanks for the compliments i did a lilbit of grinding on the spindle(where the hub connects) because in all reality they are 2 big but nothing major and if you really wanted them to fit well you would want to stretch the fenders just a tad but the whole reason i did it was to help my peeps out that where curios

97GSeX I would stick with 19 not because of height but because of width it will just be easier to deal with you will need the spacers and do some grinding unless they are smaller then 245 BUT IN THE END ITS UP TO YOU BRO AND WHAT YOU WANT
What part of the spindle was grinded?

The grinding was not needed due to the diameter of the wheel, it was needed because the offset was too positive for the width they were using. The inner lip of the wheel will make contact with the upright arm of the knuckle if you use a wheel with too much backspacing. Usually it's not the wheel that makes contact, but actually the sidewall of the tire. A good ballpark is that without pulling/rolling fenders, a 235mm width tire will need a wheel with an offset of around +35 to +38 to not rub, and even then it's a crap shoot because some 235mm tires are wider than others.

That member hasn't logged in since 2012, I doubt you're going to get an answer from them.
Lol yeah i bought the 20” wheels and did what he said and i have to say...DONT listen to this bs LOL sure imma raise my car a bit more and give the fender roll one last good try but grinding the spindle down and the 5mm spacers definately arent working so far unless i missed something

Yes, i was talking to a friend with tires for the hell of it im going to try the smallest tire i can find (225/30zr20) plus a fender roll anyway and see what i can come up with.if anything i have some adapters but thats if i want to go wide body (just in case honestly)
