I'm getting a code 0031, "knock sensor". Its happening before I start the car, key on engine off. Clear code on ecmlink and it comes back in seconds. Replaced sensor with known good. Checked that the signal wire was making it to the ecu so that's good. Where does the black/ white wire go from the engine harness side? Cant find sh#&. Sanded block to make a better connection. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I've been fighting a code 31 since getting my car running years ago. The outer sheath wire is sposed to be grounded to the chassis, as it's a shielded setup.
Two new knock sensors, no change. Checked all install specs, no change. Ran a new shielded wire and bypassed the stock wiring, no change. Only thing I tried that got me close was from a thread I can no longer find, but I was at my wit's end so I have it a shot. I tied the shielded portion into the signal wire at the ECU connection point. Code went away, and knock sensor seems to read correctly now, but I can't get rid of some strange knock counts in the lower/mid rpm ranges.
It's annoying enough I have considered changing to a standalone knock sensing system or even changing engine management systems.

Just my experiences and frustration. This summer I'll be having a friend help me with trying to tune out the knock, but I won't be surprised if it doesn't go away.

Go to E85 :p

If there were any corn pumps around here I probably would! Lol. Best we get is av-gas, otherwise it's 91 or vp race fuel if you wanna drop the coin...

Same way here. An hour drive to the nearest pump, was just giving the thread some pizzazz.
5* max timing doesn't bring out the most of my car :(
