Hi guys.

I was wondering if any of you would be interested in a set up like this for the ic-7 dash? I have a local guy that does tin work doing this, So I’m not sure on prices just yet. These are the only pictures he has sent me so far so please have a look.

What do you think?

I am with Sol, doesn't really lend itself to that location very well. If you hacked the LCD out of it and rewired the buttons somewhere that didn't suck, it could be cool. But... you have to run a haltec ecu to use it, so I cant imagine there's going to be people lining up for this service anyway.

Neat brag post... but why not reserve that for when its complete (and hopefully looking much cleaner)

Sorry you took this as a brag post homie. I didn’t mean it to come out that way. My intent with this post was to gauge interest for this particular mounting solution that my buddy came up with. While a few may not think it’s a good one, that’s ok. I had talked to my buddy and asked him if he would be interested in selling this. He said that ultimately depends on how much interest there is. Plus I was just happy he was able to fit the dash in the stock location. You may have a point, maybe I jumped too early to gauge interest. I just wanted to give him a heads up when I went to pick it up.

@EvoXcrZy08 I was being a dick. I am sorry about that. The button location doesn't matter that much because you shouldn't need to mess with it all the time. I just dont like that there are now additional screws visible, but I will try to reserve my judgement until its all in the car. When its fired up and showing beautiful graphical display, I probably wont even notice those screws. Sorry for being a downer

It's always good if we have more options. I don't own the IC-7 but I have a CD-7 in my 1g dash for a couple of years and nobody was making any mounting kit when I installed it. I wish there was somebody.
Now many brands produce dash display, so if your friend would be able to make it for the other brands, more people would be interested in, I think.

I don't think that the buttons would really get used in a car once the cluster is set up so them being back under the gauge cluster cowl isn't really a big deal. I know with my digital dashboard running on an Android tablet I never touch it now that it's set up and working.

@rabenne all is good buddy. No biggie. With everything going on. I’m on edge too.

@DSMPT I would image he would make dash kits for a few different options after he sees there is a need and orders actually happen.

Sry for the delay been pretty busy with a little bit of everything. Here are the pictures I promised.

Planning on ordering blacked out hardware. And fixing the small power coat issuse near the top bolts.

Sadly I couldn’t power up the display because my car is still at the tuners but a friend let me barrow his car. The fit was perfect.

I have the part at home so let me know what other pictures I should take of it. Sry We couldnt get more detailed pictures. We couldnt get lighting right.
