I was wondering how exactly do I need to press apart the shaft for replacing the 1/2 synchro.

Thanks.

EDIT: While inspecting the gear stack, I noticed that my synchronizers did not look like the stock fiber material, nor did they look like brass ones. I tried scratching one lightly on the squared ring section, and it was metal for sure. Then I was able to stick a magnet to it. So, I thought that the stock synchronizers were made of a "compressed paper" or a "fiber mesh"? I haven't found any steel synchronizers on the market, and can't find any threads referring to them.

Do I have some type of special custom made synchros? Is there there a missing piece of information in the NV-T350 world?

There are 2 different synchros in our trans. 1st and 2nd are a double synchro. The inner cone has fiber material on the inner and outer surface. The 3,4,5 and reverse synchros only have fiber only on the steel tooth part. Post a picture of what you have

Here is a stock double synchro on 1 and 2.

In the background you can see a replacement brass synchro. Also seen below.

The stock steel synchros are hands down the best. The brass does work but it's noisy when the trans fluid is cold. I had a trans rebuilt years ago and they used that brass synchro on 2nd gear. It always sounded like rocks were inside the trans at start up. When I rebuilt it later on I took it out and put in a used 2nd synchro bc I hated how it sounded.
