July 21, 2019: New Member in the Mitsubishi Garage

Well its certainly been a while since the last post and this news is a bit outdated, but i figured it was worth a share.

Last summer I was incredibly lucky to find this 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 finished in Jamaican Blue. It is all original with 405 miles! That isn't a typo...I couldn't believe it the first time I saw it either!

I've always admired the 3KGT platform, what's not to love about a twin turbo, AWD/AWS, GT car! While the '99 and Spyder versions may be the rarest and sought after, the first generation had all of the advanced tech features that made the car so superior for the time. 1991 was the first model year for the 3000GT VR-4 and when it debuted it won MotorTrend's Import Car of the Year. The color is definitely not for everyone but is quite rare as it was only offered for 1991 and just 129 VR-4s were made in this color.

Now this car is definitely a unique one. Always garaged. Driven ever six months and has had the fuel lines, pump and tank replaced to prevent corroded lines. However, these tires are the original out-of-production Michelin tires! YIKES! It definitely will need proper maintenance to be road-worthy and safe, however, when you pick up a car like this you feel guilty that it should belong in a museum.
