Hi everyone, I’m new to the dsm world. I just bought a 97 2gb talon awd, 62k on the clock. Just noticed a little smoke when she worms up hard to tell color might be light gray or light white, possibly with a lil blue hue. The car has been sitting in heated storage for some time and started every now and again to keep fluids ran through it. Pulls good compression 150-155, seems to run good can feel any misses or anything like that. Car is mostly stock with a few bolt ons and a tune. 12psi for normal running with a switch for a 18 psi tune. Turbo timer, aem fuel rail, Exhaust, air intake, bov, stock turbo and was told stock injectors. was wondering if the smoke is something to worry about or is normal for these cars, it has been cold here in Michigan not sure if this will effect smoke to much or not. Also noticed the steering wheel vibrates at 65+ mph, it dose have some bad tires on it that are dry rotting pretty bad this could be in some affect. Any info on ether would be much appreciated!!

Video is private so can't view it, as far as the smoke goes does it have any distinctive smell to it? It could be some seals and gaskets are worn out from sitting, or that it just needs to be driven for any possible condensation to burn out. How does the tread look on the tires? Is it wearing evenly, does the car pull any direction? It could just need some new tires, alignment, adjusted tire pressure and a balance.

No smell that I can pin point, and yea looking pretty even and pulls straight alignment seems good to me. Not sure how to make the video see able I’ll try to upload it again. And I drove the car 70 miles home so shouldn’t be any condensation. It honestly seems healthy but I’m no expert, was going to run a leak down test tomorrow Just to see. Will definitely check seals and shaft play in turbo well I'm at it.

It’s after it warms up and it’s a light color smoke, and when u hit the gas it’s puts out a puff of smoke then mellows out.

I'd suspect turbo shaft seals then, maybe some weak rings.

Can check the compression and do a leakdown test, then pull the O2 housing off the turbo to look for fresh oil evidence.

The turbo dose have oil on the compressor side, looks built up really thick, guessing this is the issue thx for the help! And she pulled 150-155 in all cylinders for compression. Have yet to do a leak down test.
