Are you sure your speedo and tach will be properly calibrated? The oem speedo only goes to 180 mph (not that we'd ever reach that on the streets with a stock build) and the tach goes to 9k.

Yeah I was worried about that too when I bought the faces. They just go further down than stock gauges. I put the faces on top of eachother and the numbers line up, up to 9k and 265km.... Idk why they decided to do that since I wont rev past 7.2k nor will I top 120 but aesthetics I guess :idontknow:

I can test the calibration of the speedo and tach fairly easily anyway in case I didnt line up the

Day 7: insulation & bamboo are cut out. Spray adhesive will be tomorrow. Clear coat is done.

Supposedly the bamboo will heat "mold" into my car with just hot water and a sponge, we will see.

Getting the o2 sensor cable through the passenger fire wall cutout took longer than I care to admit 0322201259_HDR.jpg 0322201742_HDR.jpg 0322201742a_HDR.jpg 0322201742b_HDR.jpg 0322201742c_HDR.jpg 0322201930.jpg

Day 8: didnt post because I didnt get much done but gotta keep the trend alive!

I was looking for more Mars grey Alcantara for my headliner because I ran out due to the company having limited stock. Well turns out every company has limited stock of this fabric as I can only purchase it from the EU, and with everything happening right now that would potentially be months out

So I refinished the door sills, passenger airbag, vanity mirrors, center armrest, and shifter boot with what material I had. I added some extra foam to the door sill armrests as I like to lean on my door while driving although with new racing seats shipped I may no longer have that luxury

As for the bamboo it is highly flexible one way but will not mold like a wet noodle. I gave it a bath in an attempt to get it to that state but it wouldn't so I will be trying different methods to get it in. Interestingly I weighed the bamboo and the carpet. I actually save 5lbs over carpeting with bamboo so im net neutral with insulation and bamboo vs stock carpeting

Day 9 got the back flooring in just needs a little bit more trimming. Got it all in one piece. Had to cut around the emergency brake cables

Made my bamboo sleeves for the air vents. Back half of the car is put back together for the most part.

Bought 2 sets of front turn signals from pick n pull because both my 3rd wires crapped out within a month of eachother

Day 10: front floors are still giving me trouble but I will spend all day on them tomorrow. Trunk is all done as well as radio, gauge bezel, and air vents. Tweeters just need to be wired in but they are ready to go. Once the floors are in I can put everything back in my car... Hoping to be done with this by the weekend0325202001.jpg 0325202005.jpg 0325202002.jpg 0325202014a.jpg 0325202116.jpg 0325202014b.jpg

Day 11: feels like not much was done... But I spent all day figuring out the floors and they are done. Cutting out the sidewalls tomorrow morning then glueing the floors down and putting a semigloss polycoat on to protect from scuffs and mold. Attached my vents to the top of my dashboard.

I would like to be done by Saturday evening, but who knows feels like nothing has gone my way.

Also got word that my seats have arrived in Seattle from Status racing, unfortunately my mounting brackets are 3 weeks out due to everything going on

Alright well I have lived with bamboo floors now for 3 weeks and given myself time to digest everything. I do not like them in their current state. I also may or may not have punched a hole through with my clutch pedal... I have ordered black carpets that are molded to the floor pan. I will keep the bamboo as floor mats.

I have ran into a few bugs that I need to work out for the interior besides the bamboo:
- radio shorted
- AC button is too small
- had to order another radio bezel
-only 1/2 the LED in the gauge cluster turn on
-still need shifter boot stitched up
- Center vents blow cold air door vents blow hot (?????)
-SRS light
- gauge needles need recalibrate
- vent tubes rattle like a motherf***

Most are simple fixes so I'm not concerned. Paint turned out well only one minor thing under the passenger door that I will remedy with clearbra. Seats are incredibly beautiful and comfortable. Passenger seat reclines so that I can still access the back seat area. Headliner is now black valeur.

Could not do the turbo swap due to Covid shutting everything down in Washington State

Insulation really helped with freeway and engine noises.... When I added solid motor mounts vibration in the cabin was insane to the point my ears would pop when I got out of the car. With the insulation you can still hear the engine but there is no vibration noise or noise from the road whatsoever so money well spent and I still have about 70 sq feet left

Fixed my horn yesterday. I knew it was just a simple "me wiring things dumb" issue. Ran the accessory wire through my hood lining so it looks a little more clean.

I received my black carpets the other day and a few other goodies so I will start plugging away at these little fixes to get my car where I want it.

Fixed the front turn signals. I figured that it was the 3rd wire shorted since the lights lit up when I turned headlights on, just wouldn't blink. I grabbed a couple pairs of turn signal harnesses at a pick n pull

Put the 2gb bumper on it will have to come off again when I put the FMIC on but until then she sits pretty.

Cargo nets fit easily no need to modify much. Bolted the bottom where the seat backings use to bolt in. A bit overkill but I wasn't going to drill new holes... I can use the hooks in the front of the cargo area to make the net more taut

Thinking of powdercoating the emblem pink or black undecided.0501201936a.jpg 0501201936.jpg 0501201937.jpg 0501201938.jpg 0501201937a.jpg

Have my interior pulled apart again to fix the bugs that came about. I cut my carpet and it's ready for install. I modified the seat brackets on the driver side because my bucket seat is narrow to fit my narrow body. Had to pull the rails in 2.5" but wasn't too hard. Seats are ready for install.

I bought some loctite foam for my center HVAC when driving at 3k rpm or above this crazy obnoxious buzzing came from behind there and I assume it was the tubes vibrating against eachother hopefully this resolves that issue. Once the foam is dry I will cut the excess with a utility knife

Tomorrow I will revert the AC button back to stock and fix my HVAC cables see if my hot air cold air issue is because of the cables.

Interior is mostly done just dropped off door cards, center armrest, and shift boot at the upholstery shop. 3.5 hour detail for just the exterior, my friends think I'm insane but car got alot of attention on my lovely jaunt.

@Kai Hefner did a great job with the center console!

Yeah it is I have stood on it! The bamboo feels like real wood but it's light about the same weight as the outgoing canvas thing and I still have easy access to the spare wheel well!

I'd recommend a gel coat if you go with bambo it is a very soft wood

Got a few things on the agenda for this week. I'm doing the turbo swap and I hadn't upgraded the fuel system yet so fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, fuel filter, and FIC 1000CC injectors are all going on.

Car is pretty well pulled apart. The fuel feed on the sending unit's brass nut was stripped to absolute crap so I ordered an AN repair kit from RM racing. I will be trying to tackle the fuel filter tomorrow which is supposedly an absolute bear. I am approaching it knowing I may have to replace a fuel line. The AFPR is mounted next to the brake fluid reservoir. Have the return fuel hose hooked in just got to put the fuel injectors in and remount the fuel rail.

FMIC is mounted to the frame! Tapped a new 3/8 16 hole into the frame. I did NOT trust mounting it using the existing fog light bolts.

I have as well some 70mm morimoto beam fog lights that I will be retrofitting to the car. I just need to go to pick n pull and steal som fog light plug harnesses. Driver side will have to be mounted to the pipe but I think passenger side can use the stock bracket.

Also am painting a passenger airbag that I got from pick n pull with no peel after UPS trashed the one I tried to get online

Update: Fuel is all done. Except the repair on the sending unit. I will get that on Monday. I have the turbo mostly pulled off. The oil feed line won this day I couldn't get any torque on it whatsoever. I will try again tomorrow once that is off I will do the radiator fan shuffle.

Valve cover is on and it looks good. We will see if it holds seal. I also took the time to calm down and painted the brake fluid cap and whatever this cap is :idontknow:

Also you better believe I took the extra time to make all the FIC logos face forward, even if no-one ever notices.

The car is not my taste...AT ALL. But for some weird reason I REALLY dig it LOL Its different from the norm which is good. And looks good in its own way, if that makes sense....

I've always liked daring on the wild side with my interiors. So I will take that as a compliment. Btw the Air vents are inspired by Zonda! :p

Fuel filter is out. It was a bear to get to the line under the filter with a line wrench but one full turn was enough to break the nut and I was able to torque the rest by hand. I also had to cut my feed line because the banjo fitting snapped so RTM will be saving me yet again with a fuel repair kit.

FMIC piping is in, turbo is out. Holset is fitted with everything it needs, just waiting on an N/A water pipe because I'm dumb and forgot to order it. Driver side fan is mounted on passenger side. And my Mishimoto fan did not come with the radiator ties like I thought so that will also have to wait until Amazon's delivery on Monday

Okay! Got most of my parts... And I lied. I hadn't even looked at my wastegate and realized I had accidentally ordered a F38 instead of the MVS. Soooo I'm not sure I think I am going to email STM and see if I can't exchange models. It's not a huge deal since my English Racing appt. Isn't until the 9th of March

Onto the progress:
I am waiting on the fuel filter to fuel rail kit from RTM. Should get here Friday. Fuel sending unit repair kit arrived last night so I will do that tomorrow and get my interior back together.

The engine bay is mostly done even though it doesn't look it. Catch cans installed. Vacuum hoses are switched to black and tucked. The mishimoto cans were awkward because they gave me 5/8" hose fittings and their bore pattern is metric (m12x1.5 I believe). So needless to say fittings that reduce down to 3/8" don't exist so I had to do this interesting hose setup with nylon reducer couplings. The coolant overflow reservoir does not fit with the VRSF intercooler setup so I tucked it under passenger side using an existing bolt hole from the OEM intercooler.

Fog lights took days and alot of McGyvering to figure out but they are mounted and level. Passenger side uses stock bracket with a 90 degree aluminum coupler and (2) 2 1/2" screws and a bolt. The driver side utilizes 2 pipe hangars that were cut down with 2 holes drilled in them and 2 screws and 2 zip ties were used.

Engine bay is done minus the BOV adaptor, Tial MVS, and the cold air intake box.

I have the outline for the box drawn out I just have to cut, bend, and rivet it together.

I was not impressed with the fuel sending unit repair kit from RTM so I will be returning that and I built my own for half the price while retaining the stock hard lines. I am replacing all the rubber with teflon to support race fuel if need be.

And that's it I am putting Valvoline vr1 20w50 in tomorrow and coolant with water wetter and taking her off the stilts. To sit and be a garage ornament until March 9th

I kinda dig the arizona ice tea thing going on its way different. Heat wrap on the water pipe might be a good idea, or a heat shield.. I might fab one up actually now. I don't recommend running that exhaust blanket from what I have seen of those things causing rust, maybe it will be fine?

Bamboo also bold move, kinda dig it.

After porting my exhaust runners and outlet and 7cm hot side my exhaust area is cooler than it used to get. I was running a metal shield setup, but I don't think I need to anymore it doesn't retain heat like it did. Also went to 3in exhaust.

I think you should figure out how to use an arizona can under the hood. I was thinking cut into a square and put it over the maf box or have a can turned into your over flow or something.
