I trying to install this rear lip shown in carbon fiber. I can’t seem to find a link to this part at where no matter where I look. If anyone knows where I might be able to purchase on that would m be amazing!!!

This is what your looking for. Honestly I dont think it's good looking on a dsm

I ordered this one from carbonetics. The only issue is it's a 18-20 week wait. But it just looks so much better

Hey thanks that’s exactly what I’m looking for, I’ve seen the rear bumber from carbonetics but I honestly don’t know which one I like better.

That 2nd link looks great. I might have one of those in the future...

Try to make your move sooner than later! If these guys stop making them we probably won't see them ever again... I have said, "I might have one of those in the future" and found out it was no longer available a few times over the years, and it really stings when it happens. That said.... I might have one of those in the future too man. That is a pretty good look.

If you don't get your item you can just get your money back, depending on how you pay. If you dont want to make one yourself it might be worth the risk. But at worst you should only be out the time value of that money which is basically nothing.

I am sure I have seen others say they have had issues with them... But until someone else offers it or you get good at laying out CF, it might be the only option...

@motomattx
Did you end up with lost money/poor quality/did it get "resolved"?

I put the 50% down and not only never got the item or the money back, but he wouldn't even answer any questions from me after several back and forth conversations about how to resolve the issue, bottom line he is a flake and will flake on you if and when he feels he wants to do so, he is a fanboy that takes car of cars that he wants to see his stuff installed on, for everyone else its a crapshoot at best if he wants to make a few bucks by tossing out a batch of whichever flavor of the day part that he has whipped up, but when he has sold all 10 of them and your order is number 11, you can forget getting one or a response from them.

What was the issue ? Never receiving the item?

Correct, nor the money, Chris even got involved (it was a group buy on here) and messaged him asking him to pm me (which he did) but after that one pm the responses stopped, and I did some research and found out on other forums that this is his m/o, he leaves a trail of anger wherever he goes it seems, I will just leave this here for your own consumption:

After reading the thread it seems like some people are just more patient than others. It's a small business that's making custom parts. It takes time. Seems like that thread people are split down the middle. Some are more patient and understanding than others. It's like what I'm dealing with , with TMZ right now. When I needed a rebuilt tranny for my civic i went through synchrotec. I had my rebuilt tranny in 1 week (bigger company). I sent a tranny over to Tim at TMZ for a fresh rebuild; and hes had my trans since Jan 22. But I know hes a one man show. Sometimes it takes him awhile to respond to emails too. But again I understand hes just 1 guy and it's easy to fall behind. I know once my trans arrives its gona be as smooth as butter. So it's worth waiting caus you know it's being done right. We live in a world where people expect everything quick quick quick. For smaller business it's not that easy. You dont wana rush people who want to make your stuff as perfect as they can.

Did you pay with cash or something? Why didn't you get your money back?
No I paid with Paypal but you only have so long to make a claim through them, him taking forever but still promising the parts to be made gets him off of the hook with any Paypal claims! he's not stupid when it comes to that part.

I'm the most patient person you would ever meet, my last block that I had in the machine shop was in there for several years without me bothering them, my brake calipers took about 3 months to have powdercoated without me bothering them, but when you do a group buy on a website you need to be prepared to have the stuff done by a certain date and stick to it until they are done, also years later when someone asks about the part or a refund or credit towards something else and you ignore the person, well...that type of douchebaggery speaks for itself.

My experiences with paypal is there always on the customers side. Wether he stalled or was legit if you show them the conversation you had with him I'm sure paypal would side with you since you had everything in email or messengers saved. I'll def keep everyone posted to see what happens. He quoted me next month now but my original eta was prolly still 2-3 months out.

I can totally agree with you here on the subject of one man business and parts taking time. Well, quality parts taking time. However, even though I've never ordered through Tim at TMZ but plan to for sure some day, this comparison is apples and oranges for one big reason: Quality. I'm sure, given all the threads you've read regarding TMZ, I've honestly never seen ONE bad comment. Everyone who has ordered through TMZ has nothing but great things to say. HUGE contrast to the threads you see on Carbonetics. Just for shits and giggles, I googled "Carbonetics Dsmtuners" and the first search result is "ATTENTION! Carbonetics is a lousy company, lead by a liar ..." ROFL
You can see here that the owner quoted a given time frame for parts, and more than doubled it.
I think I also read another thread where one member here, who was EXTREMELY patient, went through a similar ordeal, and when finally receiving parts, the fitment was TRASH.
I'm fairly patient, but the more patient I have to be, the longer the extensions, the more I expect certain standards to be met on parts. So when I get a part that's been delayed to double that of expected finish dates, and they are below average standards, I'm pissed.

That, I think is the biggest issue. Not saying this is the case with all carbonetics parts. But I know the AB hood had a LOT of fitment issues. Panel gaps kill me, and this was a big issue with that hood. I can't speak for other parts because I stopped bothering to do anymore research on the other parts when the actual party piece (AB hood was most popular) had the issues that it did.

I do hope it works out for you! I really do! I remember seeing your build thread and loved all that was going on and I just hope this continues for ya'! I think it's BECAUSE I love your build so much so far that I even chimed in here. I really wanna see this car get places :D
So I feel like you at least deserve to know what I know.

Yes. Well that's the point I was trying to make with TMZ. The great reviews and quality from what I read is why I could care less how long it takes. I only read that 1 thread on carbonetics here . Which was a mixed bag. But if you follow miguel_dsm and Mr memo, I'm sure you know who those 2 guys are. They both have nothing to say but positive things. Besides now with all this pandemic most of us are going through ( I live in CT) it could put a huge delay on my both my trans and lip from carbonetics. And thanks for enjoying the build thread. My tune is May 1st. Looking forward to see what it makes.

Those two guys you mentioned are both living in so-cal. Whether they know that guy Sergio personally or not, idk. But I wouldn't doubt it. So there's more bias there. I'm pretty sure they're very close to Sergio in terms of physical location..

Right on on the tune! Looking forward to it!
