You might be able to get 15 to 20 if you go on to the FB 420A groups, there really isn't much of an audience on this site for Body Kits..

i will be buying a Centroid A690 mill soon over the next year and this mill will make a full engine thats what its used for and more. it does a lot ! but only think is it's $450,000.00 for one.Not to be a jerk, but I don't see alot of this happening... If you can do even a portion of the above, I suggest working with some of the vendors before trying to do it solo. At least some of them would have tooling (for the engine/trans pieces).
Body kit stuff, you're still on your own in my book.
Please tell me where you work because I want to send in my resume.i will be buying a Centroid A690 mill soon over the next year and this mill will make a full engine thats what its used for and more. it does a lot ! but only think is it's $450,000.00 for one.

If you buy a mill or anything at that crazy price, you might make some cool stuff, but I'm pretty sure you won't make much return from trying to sell this stuff to the DSM community. Billet engine parts have a narrow niche and the majority of the community doesn't want body kits.
^^This is the key.the majority of the community doesn't want body kits.
^^This is the key.
There are some guys who want to relive the early 2000's street racer style and honestly good for them, not my style but I respect the work that goes into doing it right. But the majority of the DSMers love the way their car looks from the factory. In fact the only real thing I want to add to the exterior of mine "body kit" wise is the Carbonetics lip kit. I wouldn't call that a body kit however.
So in terms of the body kits available carid.com has a decent selection, but none of them are particularly great looking. Once again though it all comes down to personal preference..
im thinking the same thing more people don't go with body kits, the don't have the money and they just upgrade the turbo system, exhaust, rims, tires and lower the car and they have a 300hp-400hp car
like I said I'm in Ontario Canada and I'm will have a new shop after i sue some people for my misfortune
in a year I'm hoping to start. ill have a centroid mill mig/tig welders 180mm tube bender and lot more stuff for the shop. I'm plan on doing lowrider and lifted trucks and SUV's and lambo TT app's and BMW I'm big in. bikes (on road and off Road) sand rails, UTV's ATV's i know Tractor trailers. and heavy Equipment.
computers systems and app's car audio video and computing and HT Home Audio video computing
Sounds like big aspirations.
Also sounds like we are being trolled a bit but good luck!
all the best you to bud. dream big but also be realietic as, especially with a shop, you can get in over your head real fast and then people are suing you!
i hear you loud and clear. I'm a honest man. i don't rip people off and if theres a problem ill fix it.
i also good with money, and making deals. i just need the people willing to buy stuff and want
there cars trucks SUVs bikes quads worked on. we well do one off stuff too. its fun.
I think this will be your biggest issue. Having awesome products is all good and well, but having a customer base with the money to support your business, justify your facilities, equipment and staff is the main focus.
Making hard to get parts sounds great, but how much would they cost? If they're made from scratch they're going to cost an arm and a leg, and not many will be able to afford them.
You've gotta have a market for your product.
the forum was started because i can get any good body kits for me cars. we are only lift with junk.
and a few good looking hood's. I'm mad very mad. I'm trying to build some RACE TUNER CARS
that have class. and i can't get the body parts i want. it like i have to custom make it. but i need
tooling mould's for it. and i em trying to get the moulds but no luck yet.
well i talk to JT AUTO STYLE about the EVO 3 style Eclipse body kit and he will make more if i can get
15 to 20 cars done. do we need a group buy thing going on here, on bodykits.com they go for under 800$ for a full fb rb ss kit. i don't think I'm good a-naff to do so. but i want the tooling moulds JT has. copy or something. and i am planing to mike a EVO 3 style wide body for mitsu GSX, Honda AWD EM1 DSMed, and 90-91 AWD CRX DSMed.
I've seen people tape up their quarter panel/fender with painters tape and make a mold overtop of that. Once you remove the mold, you can just remove the tape and your car is fine (from what I've seen).dose anyone know how to coreight the body kit tooling mould with out making a mess out of someones car? i was thinking that how was the tooling moulds where made from photo or drawing plans?
There is another thread about CADing stuff for our cars, the summary is that no one has made an accurate 1-to-1 3D model of a DSM, so it's mostly impossible to CAD a perfect body kit. However, if you can accurately measure your car's in the x-y-z axis, you can make a widebody fender or something in CAD. The only issue is that if you produce it, most of the error is going to be in your measurements of the fender due to how difficult it is to measure in 3D. FYI CAD is not easy to get aquainted with, however if you choose to do so, I reccomend SolidEdge (my preference) or SolidWorksthis the any CAD APP's for body building that have diagrams and dimensions loaded in the CAD APP that you can build on to the diagram of cars and change how they look and new macerment's are set at?
