I have had this issue for about half a year now but have just recently started trying to fix it. I originally dealt with it by just turning boost down. About a month ago I tested the wires and the #1 wire was about 3700 with the #4 reading at over 8000. Today I received a new set of NGKs and it helped SO much. I finally got to crank it back up to 13-14PSI with a spike at about 15. Its fine so long as I'm easy getting into it at higher RPMs to keep the spike low but the popping is still far better than it was. After my first drive and a 20min cool down i checked the coils. Both read 1.0/17000 primary/secondary. After an hour cool they where still kinda sorta warm (yes that is a technical term) and read .9/14000. Finally after a 3 hour cool down on a 45 degree evening they where cold and read .9/12700. I have 2 questions, at what temperature is the resistance read and is this much variation based on temperature abnormal? My manual says .7 to .86/11700 to 56000 primary/secondary but says nothing about temperature. I'm skeptical to believe this because it also says 3000 to 22000 on the wires for the 4g63t.

I know you're talking about spark plug wires, but you didn't mention your plugs themselves? What brand and model are they? Have you made sure you've got the right spark plug gap for the boost and compression you're running? You might be having spark blow out during high boost.

Sorry, they where replaced about 3 months ago. It had NGK platinums when I bought it andni replaced them with NGK coppers at somewhere between .028 and .030. Im quite positive at this point that it is blowout I'm just going through one part at a time to figure out why. I should also add that the wires not only helped with this but they solved a warm idle issue I had. My main concern in this post was with these coils. Idk anything about their design and there seems to be so little information outside of just resistance specs online.

The coils on a 4g motor are pretty stout units and deliver very good voltage. I would neck the plug gap down to .020-.025 also. I run high boost and my plugs are gapped at .018. It is an easy thing to try.

I went ahead amd closed the plug gap to .025 and I'm not sure if it helped. If it did it wasn't obvious. I still had 2 misses out of 3 pulls up in the 15psi spike. Not bad but the problem persists. I'm still really curious if the coils are any good but dont want to drop 70 to replace them for nothing.

Well gaping down to .022-.023 seems to have fixed it with no side effects to idle. Is that really normal for so little boost though? I was originally worried that my coils may have been popping out on me. I ended up running 162% load once that was resolved with 12pt of knock. Pulled 2° and added fuel (10.5 from 11.5) up top as a quick bandaid.she needs a lot of maintenance before I can go farther now. :'( Thanks you guys have been a huge help. I am however still worried about the coil questions in my main post though.

It seems pretty normal as we up boost we decrease plug gap. I run all 3 of my DSM's lower than book. The stocker is gapped around 22-25ish if I remember right. The other 2 are both at .018".
Not sure what to say about the coils. Mine are all old and still puttin out the juice. Just hate for you to waste money if it isn't necessary.

I believe you said plugs are NGK coppers now & fairly new. I won't worry about the coils if things hold up and it doesn't start missing again anytime soon.
