Kids were playing in the car and entered the wrong radio code, and now the radio will not unlock with the correct code. Is there anything I can do on my end, or do I need to call the dealer? This radio is no the original factory radio.

Take the radio out then call up the dealer and give them the info they request off the back of the radio. Also dissconect the batery for 10 min then reconectthe battery and re enter your code. The code goes to the radio not the car.

is it the factory radio or not? do you have the code?

if you do, it's quite simple. does it tell you to input the code, or it's locked? if it's locked (probably because you entered 3 wrong codes) just turn on the keys to acc position and leave the radio on for 1 hour, it will automatically unblock after that.

If you have the wrong number, however, you have to remove the radio to get two sets of serial codes from behind it, and then call your dealer.

Just yesterday I was looking for the radio security code for my 97 GSX, I called 888-648-7820 and they said I should use a website.

After entering VIN, radio part number and radio serial number I got a mail with the security code and it worked.

Anyone here still work at Mitsu service and can give me an unlock code?

Can't believe 20-year old decks haven't been hacked to bypass this pointless code! And wasn't there a "secret" universal code or key-combo that auctioneers could use? Security code on a stock tape deck, hah! If I wanted to steal a tape deck in 2016, I'd just write down the VIN of the "donor" car and request the code.

Definitely just use the mitsucars site. Just google an eclipse vin number. that is what I did for my talon. Literally had the email with the code in 5 minutes.

My dealership expected me to bring in my car and pay for the 1 hour tech service... I'm good thanks Mitsubishi of orange park!

Website rejects multiple valid VINs. Website sucks.

Called a service dept in Florida, they said it's really hard and time consuming to look up radio codes and to call back in 2 hours.
Called a service dept in Georgia, got my code in 30 seconds.

Now I can finally listen to my MC Hammer, Snap!, and Vanilla Ice tapes again.

Would you pm me that Florida service dept number? I want a Mitsu radio at an out of state junk yard but they don't have the radio code or a VIN it came from - just the model/serial on the radio itself. So it's useless for me to buy it.

My bad, both the dealers were in FL. The first one wouldn't help me, the second one was awesome. He didn't ask for the VIN, just the serial number of the radio. PM'd you the phone number!

Hi, I bought a factory radio Cd for my 2G eclipse on ebay, but the seller did not have the radio code. I'm from Belgium, and the Mitsubishi dealer says it is not possible to obtain a radio code here. Can someone help me out?
The radio is a MR372323 ref no CQ-JB6710L, serial number 97C400890.

Finally got the car back from the repair shop, and was able to install the new radio. Indeed 8590 was the security code for this radio. Thank you very much!!!
