So I have been trying to replace the OE brake assembly on the back of my '96 gsx. I have everything together now and have yet to flush/bleed everything when I notice the original brake line (the rubber soft ones) are not mating flush with the new calipers... I ordered the powerstop rear brake kit from rock auto(link). Im wondering if I need to grab the powerstop steel lines for $118 since its a powerstop kit, but If it doesn't leak its fine right?https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=7484552&cc=1205806&jsn=2147

Like when tightening the line to the caliper it doesn't thread all the way in. It is tight and I haven't detected a leak yet, I was just curious is this could pose an issue. I believe there are like two exposed threads on the line so it is basically half of the way in the caliper.

I have rubber lines, but mine do not sit flush either and they are tight. I'm not sure if I'm missing any parts. But is this what you mean by not sitting flush.

Rear brake lines have tapered fittings like AN fittings & there are no crush washers. Same with the Brake Master connection, proportioning valve, & the connection of the rubber lines to the body hardlines. You use crush washers with the front lines banjo fittings.
