Did a 2ga to a 2gb conversion on my gsx. I bought a complete hatch instead of drilling holes in 2ga hatch. My tail lights are staying on even when key off and out. I'm thing there is a short to ground. Any help will be great. I checked the lights took them off. Not sure

Was this after just the hatch swap, or after the full swap? I did the swap but not the hatch and I can’t see how anything you’ve done would get power to the tail lights.

When you say tail lights, it’s your parking lights that are staying on, and not your brake lights? If it’s brake lights, check the switch on the brake pedal as they can be adjusted or just go bad.

It’s not short to ground, those lights are getting power from somewhere.

To elaborate further, the rubber piece on the brake pedal that touches the switch is known to dry rot and fall apart causing the light to stay on.

I will check that rubber piece for the pedal. I am going to look again see if I can find a short to ground. This brake light problem started after I switched the hatch over. It's the brake light staying on though. Thank you for all help will keep you updated

I would think that if it was a short to ground that you would be popping the fuse. Staying on would mean constant power, so shorting to a power source is more likely. Unplug the pedal switch and isolate it there. That could be a good starting point.

This would actually be a short to power, not short to ground. If this happened after swapping the hatch, go ahead and check the brake switch as mentioned, not a bad idea. I'd be willing to bet it's within the hatch though. Get back to the plug that connects the hatch harness to the body harness and unplug it. If that solves the problem, you got some bad wiring in the hatch and it's now time to repair or replace. Getting the hatch harness out and a new one in is pretty simple, so it all depends on what you're willing to do. If you need a new one, I got a spare, known to be good.
