So skeptical @Vegas smith!!!

I agree LOL, but sometimes they are too timid to fix simple problems and you can pick them up on the cheap without any problems they created.

If you are truly a "mewbie" @Carnage922451 then can I ask why you want to buy a DSM? Are you a mechanic? Racer? Planning to daily drive that car?

I'd go with your gut man, it rarely lies... just gotta figure out if it's your gut or just the rush of the moment. First thing I saw was if it got a 6 bolt swap, why did it need a head rebuild? Was the rebuild before or after the swap? I'm not the most experienced DSMer, but that's what came to my mind. Good luck brother!

I'd pass. The hodgepodge of a parts list doesn't make a lot of sense. You'd probably be better off finding a semi clean car that runs well, then start building from scratch. $3.5k will go a lot farther when it's applied correctly. You'll probably spend $3.5k unfucking someone else's mess buying that thing.

Never follow your gut when buying a car LOL. Bring someone who's competent at mechanics and have them look at with you , if your that inclined to get it. Me personally would never get a modded car beyond the basic boltons. Most of these cars are hacked up and never done properly. That's why they have such a bad rap. It's not the cars fault, it's the people who own them. I wouldnt even bother with this car.

Agree with others. If it was $1000~$1500 maybe I would consider as a parts car. According to the list, it seems the owner wasn't so sure what he was doing.
When a vender says it needs a tune, should doubt it. Many people who are not capable to make their cars running right use "tuning" as an excuse even it has many mechanical issues.

Over priced. No pics? Mod list doesn't make sense. -10AN for what. Needs a tune = doesn't run (can fix mechanical problems with tuning). I don't think this would be anything more than a parts car.

Really no1 thinks this car will be worth a f*** if hooked too a computer and tuned?

It might be, it might not be, that's the $3500 gamble. Most of us wouldn't dangle that much money for an "if". Talk him down to $1500 or so, or do some checking of vital stuff like timing components and compression before dripping asking price on a probable basket case.

This happened to me, twice. First time, the car had a bad PTU. Replaced it and drove til the compression dropped a week later (not sure if it was bad before)

Second time, only had to replace a fuel rail o-ring. Drove fine after that. Got both for $1k each.

The buyer is a newbie so it's extra risky. Gotta start somewhere though. I bought my red car when I didn't know much and got REALLY burned on it. I've been fixing this car for 4 years so this ex-newb speaks from experience :)

"Just needs a tune" usually means it has problems the owner can't figure out - usually. Buying any old turbocharged car is a gamble and almost always requires some big effort and some money. Unless you can start it up and know what it is they can't figure out, I'd be hesitant. There will already be a lot of things to fix that you can't see even if a car runs good. If it's not running good, you could be buying a money pit. You could get lucky, but the odds aren't in your favor.
