Taking my 2g to the dyno tomorrow fingers crossed for a good day. What do ya think I’ll put down? Hta68 780cc Wally 255 etc. Also I want to hear some mods and numbers maybe even some horror stories of what happened to you guys if you’ve done some dyno time.

I love bench guessing and throwing random numbers, so I will say you'd get EXACTLY 397 at the front wheels.

As for horror stories, I've only been to the dyno once, while I was running half the boost I should have (7psi) on the T25. I also had the TPS come completely loose on all 3 runs and had to guesstimate its position. The kicker? It made exactly 150 AWHP which, if you factor in the ~30% drivetrain loss, is exactly 215 crank horsepower, which is the factory figure. So technically if it ran full boost, like 12-13 psi, it would have dynod even more. Back then it was completely stock but with N/A pistons and not tuned at all. :idontknow:

Good luck man. Dyno should always be fun time. I've gotten tuned prolly 10 times always fun except 1 time.. My 1 horror experience was when I first got my DSM. I bought a a crap ecu from a member here. My car ran horribly . Had to trailer the car to my tuner. Thought it just needed to be tuned. Turned out to be a bad ECU. He luckily had another ecmlink in his shop and when he put that in my car, it ran mint! Had to trailer it back home and find another ecu.

T25 equipped cars make nearly no extra wheel horsepower with more boost beyond what the basic bolt-ons will add. But, it will add a ton more low and mid range torque.

My t25 made 211 whp. Exactly what my 09 civic si made with boltons. So embarrased LOL
Nothing to be embarrased of there, with 20 years more technology in it the Honda was only able to keep up with a 4g63 with a tiny turbo on it making what 7 lbs of boost? that turbo barely overcomes the vacuum in the manifold, if anything its proof positive of how far ahead of the game Mitsubishi was decades ago.

I was running 15psi. But on a small ass hks catback, stock exhaust manifold

Ok had some issues today nothing to terrible but really weird. Long story short it’s been and still is running fine as in no misses or lopes no cel doesn’t sputter Sounds good and pulls good till 5-6k but somehow my cam gears both intake and exhaust are 2 teeth off each and it just won’t make power. Now ive had the car for 5 or so years and haven had a timing issues so I’ve never changed the belt tensioner or any of it So the plan is reset timing with a new timing kit from extreme psi to be safe and try again. But my question is why would it be off a couple teeth and how come I can’t notice the riming being off?

I was wondering the same. If it's off by 2 teeth wouldnt there be driveability issues ? Or idling issues ?

A sad 201/182 on one pull with f***ed timing tuner claims should have started with 50-100 more I’m hopeful for next time should be back in a couple weeks

My GSX ran 2 teeth off on the Exhaust side. Still ran. Runs MUCH better now after a new belt, flipping the CAS around to where it should have been and all new timing pulleys and tensioner. I feel like I saved its life!
And be PROUD of your car!!! :thumb:

Man now I'm all worried. My shop installed cams and gears recently. The car seems to drive normal but this thread getting me all paranoid LOL. They did have the timing tool from extremepsi. Would suck to drive 2 hrs to my tuner and get the same news as you

I drove 1hr 30 for a broke heart but could have been worse. I never checked timing cause it ran the whole time I had it now I wonder if I ever had power at all? Just goes to show check all the basics regularly anything can happen. Would have take 2 minutes to see but I never looked

Gizzmo, pump or E85?
Those injectors and fuel pump don’t have much breathing room keeping up with the 68HTA on pump gas. More FYI more than anything. Dunno your depth of knowledge.

He’s on pump and I agree, he’ll be real close to maxing them out.

I also ran my car with 1 tooth off for 2 years before rebuilding it and even though I couldn't log anything, it ran "okay" and "felt fine". But a tooth off is a tooth off. I'm not sure how many teeth you gotta be off to start hitting pistons and valves, but I doubt it would be much. As for how it could be like that? Possibly bad timing job the last time it was done. Or belt skipped from a rough shift or something similar. Also hydraulic tensioners going bad could loosen the belt tightness, but that would lead to a quicker failure than the 5 years you mention.

But yeah, chances are you've ran it like that for quite some time :idontknow:

Lewis, at least your car got you there and BACK.....didn't go boom on the dyno!!! I wish I could dyno my car but god it's a scary thing. You will be back at the dyno and be glad that the car is still doing fine in no time.

I’m all for more knowledge!!! I’m still pretty new to it so I’ll take any advice. I’m on 93 got the 780s as kind of a gift what would be better for the 68 as a next step with out over kill and also any body have input on cams I hear fp3 but also 274 make a good cam for my Lil guy and I’m not to sure the difference it would make between the 2. Like I said I only want 350-400 out of my fwd. ( i already have a awd to build next)

I’m very proud of my car it made it farther then over half of other cars that I see and I drove it to my shop today to reset timing so she still kicking!!
