Upon start up there’s a loud screech noise that sounds like either a pulley going bad or the turbo. Removed the turbo to check for play. There’s no shaft play at all no screech nothing. My only other idea would be one if the pulleys. Any other ideas? Video is old I got the other issues fixed but now I’m still getting the screech. The head was replaced and so was the timing belt I’m unsure of the pulleys or gears or bearings. Any help would be great! Just got the car a few months ago and I’ve been piecing it back together. It’s a 98 gst 4g63

I tried to add the video but not sure if it successfully worked. If you watch it you’ll hear it when it starts up. It could be that I put a brand new alternator on it a month ago

An old crank shaft pulley (harmonic balancer) will screech if it's starting to separate. If you check all your belts and they end up not being the problem check the crank shaft pulley. It's a 2 piece design with a molded rubber ring holding the pulley pieces together.

Many Power steering v-belts, especially the budget ones, are notorious for screaming if the tension isnt right. Their rubber composition is picky. Loosen it up or take the belt off and start i. Also can be ps pump.
How long does it have to sit before it screeches?

Agree with Tony, check to make sure your water pump pulley is lined up. It is easy to put on backwards and makes belts squeal and sometimes will throw it off or eat on it's edges so check it.

I’ll check those things out the power steering belt isn’t on and the ac has been removed but I will check the pulleys and the water pump pulley

Replace the alternator belt, tighten it properly, if it still squeels then replace the crankshaft dampener, both of those parts likely are worn out junk at this point anyway and the belt could be soaked in power steering fluid which is likely what killed your alternator that you replaced, the belt can look fine and still be compromised with power steering fluid without you seeing it externally.
