I used to have a blog up for this very topic. In short, you need to have a car that's already very noteworthy for sponsors to even look at you. What have you achieved with the build that would make them want to get involved? Ask yourself what's in it for them. Take a look at other cars they've sponsored. No good business owner is going to help subsidize your build for the "chance" of people seeing their logo on your car when you drive around.

If you really want to get sponsored, put some real effort into researching how people get sponsorship these days - hint, it takes a lot of work. It's possible, but it's not as easy as posting a build thread and asking if anyone wants to help with the costs of the build. ;)

There's very few companies willing to sponsor anymore, unles you are doing national races. This is because most companies send sticker with their products so they basically get paid to advertise. Kids nowadays, gets a free sticker and what do they do with it? Put it on their car of course.

I put them on my tool box at work so people think its fast also!!!

Turn in some single digit passes at national events like IFO, the Shootout, TX2K, things like that, get magazine coverage because of your cars looks and performance and then shops will take notice of your efforts and be willing to talk with you.

I sponsor my own car. They all say "Wilson Racing" right on the back glass. They haven't paid me a dam thing yet...:idontknow:

This is such an early 2000s type post LOL. No offense man, but these cars have been around for so long and so many things done to them good luck getting a sponsor. Like mentioned earlier, its not impossible, but its highly unlikely. Going to have to dump a lot of money into it to begin with I imagine to get anyone wanting to sponsor you.

I’ve got my stickers on a few cars. They all race in events all season long and tag my shop page in all of their track related posts. They also put hundreds if not thousands of hours into their cars every season.

When I track my metrics it’s easy to correlate their accomplishments with my sales inquiries.
