Ok I have a 6 bolt in my car that runs fine, but one of the trans ears was broke off. I thought it would be ok and it has ran for about a year. But it has broke 2 transmission's and like 5 clutches. I'm getting ready to buy another car and put my motor and set up in it for temporary use as it is my only car. I am planing on build the extra block I have or the one I'm getting from the car I'm buying. Both blocks would need to be machined as one has rust and the other has cylinder damage. I'm not wanting to have to take my block apart for the good rods I have in it. My question is can I run a 6 bolt block with 2g pistons without a tune?

Are your good rods standard spec 6 bolt rods? If so you can't run 2g pistons because 1g pin size is 21mm and 2g is 22mm. Another thought is that if the pistons increase your static compression a stock 6 bolt map might have too much timing in it. A stock 2g map has heaps less timing in it than a 1g.

+1 on both counts
1g rods have to be machine to accept the bigger wrist pin and the 1g ecu is already a little too aggressive in timing for 7.8:1 compression, nevermind 8.5:1

also I believe you will also have to slightly modify the oil squirters to clear the 2g piston skirt. a trim and a bend, if i recall correctly

Dude, youre in HERE asking now?!?!? This was answered OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER on FB by EVERYONE LOL SMH! If you cant take advice from LOTS of DSM veterans posting on FB and not listen...whats the difference here?

Here we go again. You were given the correct answer and you said no because it doesn’t fit your agenda. Making multiple posts isn’t going to get you a different answer. Actually I take that back. My new ad ice is sell everything dsm related and move on. This life isn’t for you

Ok I will order 1g pistons thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the reply I appreciate it.
