So I got the P/N off my previously unknown "Stage 4" cams that came with my car. 101-FP4R2-8. At least it seems like it should be a 2 at the end. I did a fair bit of searching and found that cams called "FP4R2" indeed do exist, and some people have used them, but I couldn't find any specs. Before I bother FP asking questions about a product I didn't buy from them, I thought I'd try here.

I also have Kiggly Beehive Springs and his HLA regulator. This is a 2.3L.

FP had various grinds over the years and the FP4R2 were one of them . Here are the cam cards that came with mine. I only recall I chose these to be paired with my 2.3l stroker and FP said they'd be a good match, as did others.

Awesome. Exactly what I was looking for. Lift is about what I measured with calipers. They may be too big for me. I went back to a stock intake (from JMF Race) and will be running either an Evo 3 16g or 20g (I have both, down from a 6766). I have HKS 272s on the shelf. I'll try the FP cams first since they're already in there.

I would run the FP4R cams over the HKS cams. Like you mentioned, the FP4Rs will likely be a little big for a 16g or 20g but a stock intake manifold will help with midrange and under the curve power.

I ran the FP4R cams (I don't think they were R2 cams though) on my FP Black and Evo 3 intake manifold with my 2.3L auto car. They pulled amazing till my 8600rpm redline.

Hmmm, maybe I'll sell the HKS cams. My backup engine is a 2.0L though and the HKS cams with 42-44 lbs is a decently proven combo on a 2.0L.

Not familiar with the 2.3 at all.
For 2.0, Those specs on the cards for those cams are big. High RPM.
20G and 2.0L I agree would be much better served with the 272’s over those FP4’s

Again - not familiar with a 2.3, and w/o more info - but I personally would probably try to find something between the two.

so i found this cam and its fully controllable like 270 degrees controllable, i was playing with it for like 20 minutes LOL, i've one more and will post it later if this gets good upvotes( >30): http://201.255.40.40:81/
