I bet that car's still got a lot of life left in it. As bad as it may look, I almost guarantee that it's solid. Unless it spent most of it's life on the beach or in the ice then you should be fine for years to come. Rule of thumb: treat it right, and it will treat you right. Keep your maintenance up.
Do you have plans to keep modding the car? Paint maybe? Speed mods? Or are you just going to leave it alone, and take care of it as a DD?
I have a new fuel pump still in the box. I don't even know if it is meant for DSM's, but I can send you the part number for looking it up if it turns out you do need one. I would let you have it for really cheap, as RockAuto sent it to me for free on accident .View attachment 587356 View attachment 587357 View attachment 587352 View attachment 587353 View attachment 587354 View attachment 587355 did some work on my lights. Before and after. Still getting the hang of sanding/painting. Total cost wasn't a whole lot, maybe like 5 dollars worth of supplies used.
Still trying to figure out my idle issue, also sometimes getting hesitation when stepping on the throttle hard. I believe it is fuel related. Ran some seafoam through my pcv port in the intake side and threw some in the gas tank for good measure, might need a new fuel pump/bladder/fuel filter...
The exhaust ones? Those bolts might be stripped.
Possibly, yes.The exhaust ones?
I have the same idle issue. Mine cold starts just fine, but idles high in nuetral. Im curious what you figure out.I tested my tps and it is working fine. It is installed properly. I have no ide why it wont start on a cold start, it just sputters and idles low until it stalls. I have to run flood mode to get it to run and rev it until heated enough. Then after driving for a bit and getting to operating temp it will rev to 2k when I go into nuetral to come to a complete stop, it wont stop revving until I stop fully then it bounces up and down until it levels off. Idles perfectly fine when its sitting though. This issue is happening often but it doesnt happen all the time so I have no idea what is causing this. Faulty 02 maybe?
My IAC is as far out as it goes, still having issues. I will play with it some more though to see which way I need to adjust it.Mine hates cold start. Just went to leave school and I had to run flood mode again... this is racking my brain. Maybe my iac is too far out and not letting enough air in? I have no idea. Not enough time to diagnose right now cause I have work soon. She runs and idles so well though right now
There are 2 IM gaskets. One on the head and one above the runnersYeah I reused the plenum gasket, it was in good condition and a felpro one. The intake mani gasket is a crappy paper composite one from evergreen.
