Theres this flat face plate that is on top now, you can easily reach in there and pull it out. It is not attached to anything. Then you'll see that gold color thing in there with a hole in it. In the center is another bearing. That little hole is an alignment spot which is placed on this little shaft/stub that sticks out. you can't miss it or place it wrong unless you are wanting too. The center bearing slides right out because you can see that gold piece has a crest shape to it. remember to match your parts

With the gold piece out, you'll be staring at another retaining clip. remove it & then turn the unit over so the gold bearing will slide right out. There will be another retaining clip that the gold bearing sits on.. (clip- bearing - clip)
I tilted the unit sideways so you can see the grooves where the clips sit so when you replace/put back.

After that, you have successfully removed all the guts from the unit( i dont know the name of it). I needed to get the drain plugs/fittings off so I could use my dremel tool, my razor & scrap the gasket crap off, clean the surface rust & take it to the garage so I could spray with that Oreilly's brake cleaner spray. I removed all off the rust, gunk etc..

Now, I had assembled this thing and rotated the shaft & was hearing/feeling some slight/minor friction. I wasn't going to let it slide so I took this thing back apart. To be honest I assembled & reassembled this thing like 4-6 times. I wasn't satisfied on how the feel was so I had to narrow down on what could be causing this feel. It was very faint but I figured it out. You can see on my shaft, there is some coloring which had very very minor grit on it or whatever rust. It didn't pit the shaft nor did it damage it.. it was just gunk/building on top but very very small amount. I ran the bearing across it to test the sound and feel and figured out where the bearings sit on the shaft so I could test the rotation before assembly. I was getting tired of taking it apart but I couldn't let this beat me. I became one with this damn thing & get it now. I cleaned the shaft a lot better and tested all parts before assembly & got everything to a T now. I don't think you guys would have this problem being that this turbo came from the gulf of mexico. You can see a clip by the propellar blade that is hanging low.. i forgot to mention, but that needs to be replaced as well which is easy and should be within your kit.

Here are some after photos of the parts cleaned up and how i tightened to specs (with loctite)which you will find online depending on your turbo. I did mark the locking nut that goes on the end of the shaft by the turbine propellar so I was able to match it back up and not mess with the "balance". The nut i'm talking about is the first one you take off when you begin. MARK IT but yeah, everything is super smooth, no noise, no friction, and now sits until I finish this build. I'll keep yall updated on how this thing come out. Thank you for yalls time:hellyeah:
