Hello all,
I believe this is my first post on tuners, been a lurker since 2005. I'm pretty familiar with these cars. Not with link. The car is a 91 Talon TSi Auto. Fully built with 25 miles on new motor and turbo setup. I will update my profile asap.

I bought V3 new a couple months back. Downloaded all the latest stuff. Checked OBD wiring. Have 4.5vdc at pin 10, pulse with key on to ground and pin 1. Continuity to ground with pin 12. Tried three different computers. Cable is brand new. I KEEP GETTING "no responce recieved".

Replaced MPI relay just because I have extras. I deleted the ABS, IAC, and FIAV. Only issue I can think of is that my CEL turns off after 5 seconds but comes back within a minute or two. What's up with that. Car starts and will run with foot on pedal, will idle after warm but needs a tune very badly. Also has a 2g MAF.

Thanks for any help you may offer.

I just learned that on my ECU the ECU could run just fine, but I couldn't connect because of failed capacitors. I didn't notice them myself when staring at my board, but I was at my wits end and sent in my 95 ECU to ECMLink for analysis and that's what they found. They repaired the capacitors and afterwards could connect just fine. So if you run out of things to test, consider this as an option, having them inspect it for repairs.

I installed it, new and remove the white shed speed chip that ran the 880's. Chip orientation is correct. Has a ZIF socket I'm not fond of but worked with the old chip, tried some light dielectric

Sending it in might be the direction I'm heading. Hope to not. The ECU was rebuilt a while back by ecmtuning

Keep it coming, please! This has been a long build like three years

Can you start the car and then try to connect? I have had occasional problems with a connection and for some reason that fixed it.

Yes. Latest update was Feb I think.........check the site for down loads and look at the release date so you know.
Get your COM ports assigned?

Laptop recognize the cable. Any body know why my cel comes back on with key on engine off, after a minute or so. Is that why it's not connecting?

Just found paper work. Ecu was rebuilt by ecm tuning in July 2018. Replaced some capacitors and IC111. Kind of rulling the ecu out but we shall see. I'm running out of ideas. Probably going to pull the harness and check all my wires.

Does anyone know of connection issues with ZIF sockets? I know it used to be a thing that ECMLink didn't work with them.

Here is a photo of the socket.
