Here I'll be posting my build process and restoration of my 98 GSX of this car to date, so I can look back at it all in one place and for others to enjoy.

June of 2018
Just picked it up, this being my 3rd DSM but my 1st GSX by the age of 17 that I scored for 4000$ with some issues


July 13 Sadly the car wouldn't start, which lead me to tackle my first head gasket and I finished it up in about 3 days



Sept 5 Tackled my first carbon fiber restoration after dealing with the previously sun faded hood


Oct 29 WINTER IS COMING. I live in the state of Wisconsin and it was time to store my rust free baby for the winter, Up until this point I've been dealing with many issues that I couldn't address as it was my daily. Including a seemingly impossible to fix manifold to turbo flange leak (Until it met a belt sander), multiple boost leaks that got addressed after buying a tester.


March 26th - April 23rd Recently moved into a friendlier car working environment and I decide to leave the car apart to fully dig into some bigger parts of the car. I put new motor mounts in all around, I bought a Evo 3 IM, a S90 70mm TB, and a ETS short route intercooler. Also relocated the battery to the back and installed a fuel pump rewire


May 3rd Figured it was time to ditch those ugly hood pins for a more stylish Aerocatch system


May 15th OFF TO GET TUNED! All of my hard work the last couple of months is becoming a reality as it's all back together and going to get tuned by my friend


July 18th After all the previous work I bring the GSX on a 300 mile trip to Road America with my friends and even bring it on the race track!


July 20th Like all my friends had said would happen, it broke down. All of my maintenance and
preparation was no help here but the gods shined down and brought me Sam Chaysavang an AEM tech that saw my eclipse tail lights and ran over to help me. He diagnosed it down to a dead ECU in minutes with his fancy tools which would have taken me days (Thank you Sam!) I later found out it was due to an exposed wire somewhere in the harness.


July 24th After being dead in the water having to leave my eclipse 300 miles away due to some AAA fine print it's finally back!



Nov 8th Winter has come once more and I've pulled my first engine in under 5 hours! This is the start of me almost completely tearing this car apart and giving it the treatment it needs and deserves
